How To: Use and Manage Attachments

GFO comes with an attachment system that allows you to drop files into your posts, rather than linking from external sources. Both methods have their pros and cons, but for those of you who want to be able to manage your files from a single place, here's how to use attachments.

Adding an attachment to a post

Note: You have to post a topic/ reply in the full editor, rather than using the quick reply.

  1. Scroll down to the Upload attachments section
  2. Click on Choose Files
  3. Select a file or multiple files (using ctrl + click to select individual files, or shift + click to highlight a continuous sequence of files)
  4. Click on the Add the file(s) button
  5. Below will be a Posted attachments section, with options of previewing the file (click on the file name) or deleting the file
  6. To add the file into a post, below the posting box an Attachments: will appear along with a dropdown list and a Place inline button. Choose the file you wish to add into the post, put the bar in the post where you want it to appear (the flashing vertical line is the bar) and click the Place inline button

To manage your attachments, go to the Manage Attachments section of your User Control Panel.
