Anyone here from GTF circa 2011-2012?

Anyone here from GTF circa 2011-2012?

Unread postby dukeziggy » 1 January 2020, 12:52

Feeling a little nostalgic and very wistful, wondered if anyone stuck around. Anyone remember me?

BTW, if anyone does remember me, I met pinkoliphant on GTF in 2011 and we're still together!

I don't immediately recall you, but that was so long ago now, 8-9 years, nearly a decade, can hardly believe it. :runaway:

Welcome back to the forums in any case! You should make an intro thread here so people can get (re)acquainted with you!

Always good to hear of successful relationships that started on the forums! :keke:

I'm pretty sure I remember you if you had that same avatar. I definitely remember poolerboy.

This is my old profile if it helps at all: https://www.gayteenforum.org/memberlist ... le&u=32729

I'm FirePhantom. I've had similar avatars on GTF, usually either something from XKCD's comics or Mewtwo. My last avatar on GTF was:

It's also been:

Oh, you're from Michigan? I'm from Oakland and lived most of my youth in Ingham. My stepmom's family has a cabin near (I believe, it's been a long time) Houghten Lake. René's (Anonymous Boy) cousin has a boyfriend living with him in the Netherlands from Traverse City.

The username vaguely rings a bell, but GTF was a long time ago to me. Oddly, I can remember a lot more names from the earlier days than the latter days. As an example, Pooler’s twink obsession will always be Horizon to me.

Ah, I might be imagining things, then. It's hard to say. God, I'm reading through my old posts. GTF was absolute whorish debauchery, I'm so glad it's still online to read through. Also a little annoying, because I think I was a lot funnier than I am now. Now I'm just a crotchety old man.

Very cool, I'm from Traverse City. It's pretty small - there's a decent chance him and I at least know some of the same people.

I also lived in SE Michigan for a year and went to OCC, which is where most of my family lives. pinkoliphant and I have been living in Chicago ever since we got an apartment together (after having known each other for only about a month!) but I'm getting a little stir crazy. I like the idea of going to New York.

Yours seems to seem somewhat familiar too. What I really want to know is, where is Aerius? I had such a crush on that guy.

He both doesn’t post and is happily in a long-term relationship these days, you missed that ship.

I'm happily in a long term relationship as well, I was just wondering what he was up to. I was working nights at the time, so with him living in NZ, we spent a lot of time hanging out in the chat.

When we closed it down (due to dwindling activity and lots of spammers arriving) we archived it and vowed to keep it archived and accessible to old members. :keke:

René and I got married a little over a year after meeting each other, and moved in together in a new country about 5 months after that. People think that's short, but as your case also attests if you know someone is right then they're right no matter how long. :3

In case you remember the Anonymous Boy referred to by Brenden, that was me, founder and admin of GTF.org :P

I love to go back and read old posts. So many memories :3
I believe setting up GTF.org was the single most significant thing I've done in my life, and I plan to put the appropriate measures in place to ensure that it continues to exist as an archive for the rest of time.

I just need to get around to putting a bit of an explainer up! Just the other day I got an email from a 16-year-old guy asking for help because he couldn't figure out how to register as a member on GTF and the forum seemed like a great place to him. He would probably have made an awesome member. So I explained its fate and of course pointed him here now that we accept under-18s (down to 16) here. Hopefully he'll join here instead.

We actually kind of moved in together after 11 months, just at our respective parents' places :)
(We spent the maximum 3 months allowed without a visa together on either side of the ocean and got married in Connecticut during the first 3-month stretch while living at Brenden's mom's house in Michigan. At the end of the second 3-month stretch at my parents' house in the Netherlands, we settled down in Yorkshire, England where we got a little studio apartment at first and made arrangements to become permanent residents.)

Well I joined back in 2012... can’t say that I am familiar with you though. But I only really became active a bit later.

Jesus... that was so long ago.

Anyways... welcome to the new place!

How dare you edit your post to add a disparaging remark about me after I've liked it? :oface:

I just mentioned it in case it helped him remember if he'd interacted with me. :P I can imagine an interaction being more easily remembered as being with "the admin".

I joined in 2010, I think, but I don't remember anyone. I wouldn't remember my own mother if I hadn't talked to her recently. Sometimes I'm taking out the trash or brushing my teeth and I suddenly remember Simon exists, and I smile a little and move on with my day.

Does anyone know if Simon’s Primadonna Girl video is still up on YouTube? I need a good laugh.
