Board shorts vs. beach boxers

Board shorts vs. beach boxers

Unread postby harel » 5 September 2020, 12:00

During summer, most men wear loose, baggy board shorts.

Do you agree with me that men (and boys) look much better in beach boxers (left picture) than in board shorts (right picture)? Board shorts make male hips look wide. The person wearing them looks somewhat childish or even weak to me. When I see a young man with a girlfriend on beach, her tight bikini always contrast with his baggy board shorts.

I wear tan through jammer shorts which are kind of "see through". Very comfortable.

I like the beach trunks much better. They look more adult, more manly.

I love both styles, to be honest. No strong preference for one or the other. Both are infinitely nicer than speedo-style and other skimpy kinds of swimwear, which gross me out.

I wish the one on the left was more common in Brazil, but only because the few people that aren't wearing proper swim trunks are the ones wearing board shorts. The Speedo fad never left my country and the beach is always a fantastic place for sightseeing.

So, I'd have to say I prefer swim trunks.

As a bonus, here's me wearing a pair of mine :P

In China most people wear speedos too! I think due to recent fashion trends, some are starting to wear board shorts now. I’m too shy to wear speedos but I think some guys look great wearing it. :3

Yeah, I kinda like Speedos too. Why shouldn't we show off the goods? If ya got it, flaunt it. And if you don't, still flaunt. We all are going to get old and flabby one day.

Speedos put me off. They look too much like girls' underwear for me I think.

What? They're shaped like briefs. They are modelled after briefs. And I only said "Speedo" for a lack of a better term in English. As much as there are people wearing brief-like trunks similar to the first picture, most guys wear trunks that look more like boxers (the one I'm wearing in the picture being an example).

Anway, why are you and Brenden so weirdly focused on male and female, trans and not trans, anyway? It's so strange, and it seems to be getting stranger as time passes.

Being put off by guys wearing something that resembles briefs because it looks feminine doesn't make sense. After all, didn't pretty much all men wear briefs back in the day?

Briefs turn me off too. So do jockstraps. Nothing I can do about it.

What men wore back in the day doesn't affect me.

What I find curious is that you seem so affected by my underwear and swimwear preferences. :P

I remember a joke from... somewhere. I can't remember where now. But it was: "only two types of people wear speedos in public: Great athletes, and perverts."

Not so much affected as I am concerned, but it's also nothing I'd ever lose my sleep over heheh. You do you.

Hah, that's how I feel about jockstraps.

Frankly speaking, I meant swim (or beach) boxers. I suggest that they cover enough. Also, I buy somewhat larger swim trunks than I need. I thought that trunks are boxers only (not speedos). I am not a native speaker of English.

Look, most men (and boys) do not go to a gym regularly. In many cases, baggy, long board shorts look like skirts to me:

On the right body speedos can make a guy look cute.

All the guys in the pic are wearing them well

I’ve never been to Brazil but if this is what the guys wear on the beach then I’m booking a flight!

I’m used to seeing speedos worn by overweight men on beaches in Italy and Portugal and can never understand what crossed their mind to wear something like that on a body like that.
