Forever alone due to mental illness

Unread postby TooDumbForLife » 27 July 2021, 18:30

Hello, dear forum members,

I am writing for two reasons. On the one hand, I am looking for a partner (even though I do not think it will be successful), and on the other hand, I am looking for advice. I am not doing this to get attention from people who have nothing reasonable to contribute, but from those who can. Let me get straight to the point:

Since my late teen years, I have been suffering from a mental illness that restricts me in all aspects of life. It is a chronically settled, psychologically caused but physically manifested Globus Syndrome. It causes contact with other people to be extremely stressful, while making them suffer as well. At the same time, there is no possibility of healing; the syptoms may reduce, but do not go away. So I will have to endure this for the rest of my life and be unable to maintain close relationships with other people. Given my very introverted nature that triggered this disorder, it should not be too hard, though still unhealthy.

As I said, I am not here to listen to declarations of pity or blame, but because I am looking for people who can help me. And because of my somewhat dreamy view on the world, I believe that there must be at least one person on earth who is in the same misery and who would therefore be able to live with me. And the best way to search (and to be found) as far as possible is via the Internet. Nevertheless, I do not expect to be successful, it would be too incredible to work out. But it would also be a great help to me, if others, who might have helpful advice or know of better forums, would respond.

Thanks to everyone who read and considered this.
