How do you feel about straight men on Grindr who post #NoMan?

Unread postby cbsMEL » 4 April 2019, 23:10

I've seen an increase in straight men on Grindr seeking transwomen who are adamant about men not messaging them. What are your thought about gay men being sidelined in a space theoretically created for them?

I was about to post about Grindr and how I just discovered it 10 days ago. Its never been easier to hook up! Ive even DM’d a “straight” guy asking if was interested in a bj and bottom. After a few “I’m not gay” messages lol he was thrusting his rock hard cock in my ass.

I don't see a problem with it. Grindr isn't exclusive to gay men IMO. The fact that they're there isn't pushing gay men away from the app, they're not like immigrants taking our jobs!1!11!!!!

To each their own, and if Grindr is a platform that works for them, all the power to them!

I know the “enlightened” position is to pretend like the app is welcome to all and such but realistically none of the guys on there are straight, unless they’re trolls.

I wouldn't call them straight either, but I understand #NoMan means they're not attracted to male attributes, just want to fuck girls with dicks, which is something different from being gay. I guess.

Would Grindr even be the appropriate app to find girls with dicks?

They do not take the place of someone else. So why should it bother anyone?

Maybe the girls with dicks want to find men there that want them...

We're hardly being "sidelined" on an app where probably 99% (at least) of the people on there are men seeking other men.

For every one of these there's probably 20 "no fem, no fatty, masc4masc" so you're good.

If strangers make it clear to me that I’m not the person they’re looking to talk to, I just don’t talk to them. It’s easier than investing the time or energy that getting defensive or offended requires.

This really, also continuing to pursue someone who has made it clear you are not their type isn't going to magically make you their type. You're not gonna change their mind, move on.

Then again I think some people are just forgetful. One messaged me today who I (politely) told I wasn't interested back in early October. I do try to be patient with that, because I'm aware my memory is just something fucking else while other people, yknow, actually forget things. Sometimes though I do wonder if it's really forgetfulness or if they're just stupid and think I've changed my mind after a few weeks. I remember everyone I've spoke to immediately when I see them on Grindr, even after a long time.

I have a real problem with anyone defining a medium which hasn't really defined itself. I've been told by guys not to ask for LTR in my profile because "it's grindr". That to me is real hubris. Grindr is an app. It's what you make of it. They have every right to use it if they're respectful.

I get a lot of "straight" men that are only into transwomen and crossdressers that hit me up even though I'm none of those. I find it weird and funny at the same time.
