How do you handle locker rooms after sports?

Back when I was younger, I'd get really nervous and the occasional boner, but I took steps to hide it. Nowadays I've grown used to it. Hormone levels have probably gone down after the teenage years were over with. I prefer not to use the locker rooms if I can help it though.

I get naked, shower and then dry off and get changed. Not showing off or looking just getting clean and changed like everyone else

I'm a life long competitive swimmer, and I'm gay. I can't speak for straight guys naturally, but perhaps the difference is that I got used to being with basically naked other guys from when I was five years old and it never changed, so it's kinda normal.

Competition gear leaves nothing to the imagination (skimpy speedos) anyhow

I think boners are pretty normal for straight and gay teens, so it just happens and no one knows what's the reason you have a hardon, right ;)

Funny that you ask this. My first day of high school gym class I worried that I would get a hard on when I saw all the naked boys in the shower. I was actually mortified that I'd out myself and it would all be down hill from there. But amazingly, nothing, I didn't pull a boner.

Gay guys don't get immediate erections every time we see a naked male. It depends on the situation and a shower in gym class is not sexual.

OMG, did you really have to put that idea in my head. Why not make it a mini margarita in a tiny glass on top of a nice stem. I'm down for that seems to be the most apropos response to that one.

Kind of agree with the comment above. It's no longer the "boys" locker room. No one, unfortunately perhaps, is going to snap you in the ass with a wet towel or anything else.

Agreed. If you go and ogle a guy and he doesn't like it, be prepared for repercussions of some sort. May just be verbal but may be physical too. Touching without consent? There are laws against sexual assault. Touching someone without their consent is just that, sexual assault.

Growing up, I was never in an environment with a lot of male nudity so it is still somewhat of a novel idea. But just because there are good-looking guys in various states of undress doesn't mean I can let go of my self-control. If there happens to be a really hot guy standing in all his glory and it causes a stir, I make sure to get out of there asap. Grab a towel, get dressed, whatever. Nobody wants to be the guy in the locker room who got hard because another man was changing...

Honestly, the idea of communal showers always puzzled and intrigued me. We don't have that practice here. People just don't like seeing other people completely naked.

I wonder if communal showers existed in some high schools. That would’ve been both traumatizing and hot.

Of course they did. The idea that young people of the same gender shouldn't see each other naked is extremely new, relative to the entire course of human history. Even the Victorians bathed communally. I'd say sometime around the early 80s, American protestantism conspired with the revelation that homosexuality exists to inaugurate a historic era of squeamishness in our society.

If nudity was normalized, I bet it would do a lot to even out the pathologically perverse among us.

They certainly do, at least in South Africa. You'll find them at boarding schools for a start

Why would you like straight guys? They don't even like you. Just think of something disgusting to kill your erection.

I personally find most gay men vile too, the amount of sex they have and talk about. No self-restraints whatsoever. Ew
