LGBT Heroes

One of the questions for introducing yourself after joining the forum is who are your gay role models, but I don't really have any and I am ashamed to admit that I don't really know anything about gay people who have done a lot to advance gay rights and fight against discrimination. I thought it would make for a good thread topic though, so who are your lgbt heroes and why?

RuPaul was a very important drag queen in the 60s and 70s I think. He still is very relevant. I'd consider him a hero.

Without checking I think rupaul is 58. But didn't get big until the early 90's

Tbh i think he's more popular now then he was back then.

He's definitely making more money. Drag race is pretty huge. And is expanding all over the place.

I guess Alan Turing could classify as one. As one of the most important figures in computing history. Sometimes even called the father of computers. Plus his work on breaking the German naval enigma really helped shorten the WW2. So that would quite literally make him a hero.
