The big move

Unread postby Ander1969 » 13 September 2020, 20:36

For the past few years, ever since we moved into this new house, I've been living in the man cave in the basement (due to my wife's stem cell transplant) and my kids have had the main floor all to themselves. Well, I finally woke up. Why the heck am I still living in the basement? My wife has been gone two years now so I've decided it's time for me to move upstairs and kick the kids to the basement. I've finally donated all her clothes and stuff so I think I'm ready. I'm going to be very emotional for a bit, I get that, but I think it's time  . Any advice?

We don't have big comfy furnished basements here in Europe like you do in North America. They always seem so cosy tbh :3

That's why I stayed down there for over two years. It is very cozy and private, but it's time to come above ground. I'm trying to make my bedroom cozy too.

Welcome back to the surface! I don't think you need advice. If you get emotional, be with it. Feel it fully. Then do whatever is next. Your kids will survive the change and so will you. Emerging from underground sounds very symbolic, so embrace that for all it is worth.
