Land and Sea snakes both respire with their skin. Diving sea snakes can receive as much as 20% of their oxygen intake this way allowing them to dive from 30 minutes up to two hours.
Also they are made from two separate invasions with species in Asia and Australia both adapting to life in the ocean.

My head hurts.

So, there's a total of 171,300 tonnes of gold that has been mined throughout human history. And practically all of that was dumped here by meteorites, because all the gold native to earth has probably sunk to the core.

Wait, the Wiki page was last edited yesterday. I think this is a Fools joke. Curse you, BBC.

There are 439 contradictions in the Bible.

If you happen to have a folder full of files and you'd like to have a list of them in a handy text file,

  1. Go to your folder.
  2. Hold Shift and press Right+Click. The regular Dialog window comes up, but with Open Command Window Here as a new option.
  3. (you could also just open CMD and navigate manually, but that's annoying]
  4. In the Command Line, type dir > print.txt (or whatever you want the text file to be named).
  5. A text file will appear in the folder.

If you're walking around outside and you happen to get a whiff of semen, don't assume that you're near a whorehouse or a swimming pool. It's probably Pyrus calleryana.

If that weren't the case, I would be horrified.

Iceland has an app to prevent incest.

Because the country has very limited immigration and a super-low population, and because Icelandic last names are based on one's same-gender parent's first name, it's very likely for an individual to accidentally sleep with a first cousin or whatever. So, after the creation of the Islendingabok, a genealogical database accessible only by the citizens of Iceland, they created an app that people can use to check.

- The throat of a blue whale is smaller than a dinner plate... it would struggle to swallow a grapefruit.

- Goldfish are proven to have a memory of at least three months.

- 50% of the total humans that have ever died were killed by mosquitoes...nearly 45 billion people.

- Chameleons cannot change colour to match their background. Their colours change with their emotions, and this can lead to coincidental camouflage.

- Male European earwigs have a spare penis, in case the first one snaps off.

- America is named after a Welshman.

In Baleen whales the process of feeding involves drawing large amounts of water through the sieve like baleen and expelling excess through the blowhole. This process can be completed in just four seconds.
