There will always be something that will cast doubt on the decision as such. Sometimes it is valid. But what I can tell you is that there is "value" in having your own place secured (in what manor you see that) that is beyond the dollar value. It's always a gamble but some things are worth taking some amount of risk on. I wish you both luck and happiness on this one.

Here's a pic from the old home. After years of going with a fixed rate loan we went with a variable. Oddly enough it was tied to the US Treasury Bond. When the bond rates fell so did my interest rate. It was a whopping 1.8% for the longest time. It was hard to give up that loan. So a pic to say "value". Only a few presents were put under the tree before the night of Christmas.

Being a loser.

Been reading David Starkey's Elizabeth: The Struggle for the Throne. Being such a history nerd, I decided to sketch good Queen Bess with Robert, Earl of Leicester. Maybe I'll add more detail to this. I have been thinking of drawing a graphic novel based off of the Tudor's, but that'd be a tremendous amount of work.

Prepping drivers for refoam. Joy!!! I provided some photos for the Optimus Pro LX-5II disassembly.

And to show exactly what it is that is being replaced.
Also have some Cerwin Vega 10” woofers to get ready and a set of Boston Acousitcs 8” woofers to prep for new foam.

It can be a messy job. So if you do this. Wear old clothes and protect your floors and furnishings. The old foam gets gummy and won’t come out of most fabrics. :/

Pull the rubber grill grommets from the front baffle to expose the Phillips head screws.
A689A4F1-EAB1-4739-9B3A-277EF2B23557.jpeg

Next pull the baffle gently away from the cabinet. Careful as it may be stuck to the cab pretty good.
Now that you have the baffle off. Be careful as the wires are attached to the woofer. Disconnect the wires and mark polarity on the driver. Red is red and black is black. This variant of the LX-5 has two different size spade and yours may too. That will make it easier when wiring the woofer back up.
The woofer is rear mounted on the baffle with 4 Philips head screws. Remove these to pull driver away from baffle.

Now the driver is out. You may note the foam is distorted slightly. That is the part that suspends the cone and helps keep the voice coil aligned in the gap. The spider is also another integral part that keeps the coil aligned but with a failed surround the voice coil will rub and ultimately fail due to excess heat. Otherwise know in the hobby as blowing a speaker. A very distinct smell when the coil cooks. ;)

Lastly the foam has been removed on the outer edge. You can see the gap around the cone.
Using a speaker in this condition is not recommended. It will damage the driver and a recone may not be available as an option.

So those are the first steps. Next steps will be covered when the foam comes in. Wanted to share this with everyone. It’s what I do in my free time. :)
It is also one of my passions. It is also a passion I near gave up when my home was burgled 2 years ago.
I thought “screw it! They might come back
:(
I was in a bad place for a while. But I was repairing a set of Cerwin Vega DX7 I found in the trash. I repaired those and a set of EPI M100 while going through that all.
And you know what? It made the days better and I was happier because I was doing something that made a difference to me.

I also do my part in keeping these kinds of things out of landfills. And besides that they deserve to be heard again. :)

Sharing what one is passionate about is not being a loser. It’s inspirational. :) if anything it may possibly give someone what they need to see them through a bad time.

Heck you may inspire someone to draw. You never know.

Spent the last 6 hours working on 1 minutes worth of a YouTube video which I'm working on (it's a documentary-style format, never done that before), and now awaiting a ride to Walmart

I’m going to work, as today I work at 9am. This is the first time I’ve had to work this early in years, as 95% of my shifts are 3-11. It’s so early... :P

Preparing mentally for the day. Enjoying a cup of joe from a cup I don't use ofter as it is amostly a memory of my past.

Before the New Jersey was decommissioned, it sereve as a test platform for one of the projects u worked on. That was my first job out of uni. I love it. Imagine being gay and occasionally going on an all male cruise all expenses paid. XD

I'm going trail riding later and want to be in a "take no prisoners" mood.

Meant to attach a pic. Fixed it.

I still see cock and naked twinks on tumblr. What’s been going on since I was gone?
Blow: "Nowadays even Liam can release an album of his screechy vocals and it'll probably go #1..."
Ramzus: I can admit that I'm horny just about 24/7
homomorphism: I used to not think your name was deshay and that Erick was just being racist
Hunter: sometimes I think I was literally born to be a pornstar

The tumblr filter doesn't work 100% correctly, flagging posts it shouldn't while also leaving some porn untouched.

Maybe they're planning on this being a disaster and then they'll bring the porn back, like they did with New Coke.

Was having a couple beers in the Castro after riding trail today. I seen a six pack of twinks walking along and thought of someone on this forum.

I was working on the game, but I took a break to draw a little bit of Wreck-It-Ralph 2 inspired fan art. The the character here is J.P. Spamley, a real cutie. :3

LOL. He's also bald at the top, though unlike him I don't try to hide it with a combover. :D
