What are you doing right now?

Some of you need to get your thyroid checked.

Re: What are you doing right now?
Backing up the game data to the storage drive. I just downloaded and implemented a plug-in for my game that allows the characters to do diagonal movements on maps by holding down 2 directional buttons at once for the desired direction.
It works great but now I am gonna have to create diagonally facing sprites for all of my player characters.

Re: What are you doing right now?
I’m watching The Dig on Netflix.
I fear I may owe Magic an apology. There was me thinking archeology was all running and whipping people and generally being uncouth. It seems it’s actually a lovely way for an English gentleman to spend an afternoon. I wish he’d have made it clearer that he goes to work in a waistcoat and tie. I’d have found it all much more estimable.

Urg. Fine. I suppose I have to watch it. -_-
It would be entirely remiss of me not to update you on the contemporary archaeological scene, though. No longer is the gentleman or lady antiquarian suitably attired, but now must rather demean themselves with the donning of hi-vis most vulgar. Unconscionable!

I wouldn’t rush yourself. I’m not convinced it works terribly well as a film, I feel like it has a lot of potential as a period drama a-la Downton Abbey. Instead, it sort of skips across the intrigue and feels very slow in places. The lead acting is lovely, there’s some lovely cinematic framing in places, but it’s not a great film.

Yeah, they got that bit right.

I'll add it somewhere towards the bottom of the list, then. The Snowpiercer series is the current focus, and that has explosions and stuff. Much more exciting.

I accidentally saw a bit of that when Brenden was watching it. Big mistake. Had to jump on the remote and kill the TV to make it stop. Still traumatised.

Was there an explosion in Snowpiercer? I can’t remember an explosion.

Is there a particularly horrifying scene that I'm not remembering, or did you just think it was that terrible?

Yurp. Just a small one, though.

Horrifying... begins to describe it, yes. But hang on, your (very British) reference to "Series 2" just alerted me to the fact that there is apparently a movie and a TV show by this name. I was referring to the movie.
Carry on.

Oh yes, there's some very artful ultra-violence in the film. Disturbingly surreal. The TV series is significantly less so.

René has such a weak constitution he couldn't stand to see a person's arm frozen solid and then smashed with a hammer.

Oh that scene is in the series too. Josie has a hard fucking life in the series. Things as they are now, having her frozen arm smashed off isn’t even the worst thing that has happened to her.
Maybe don’t let René watch the series.

Come to think of it, I do believe I declared that anyone who enjoyed that movie can only be deeply evil and worthy of death without further delay.

That kind of judgement should only be reserved for people who enjoy Adam Sandler movies.
