Just be aware such drugs appear to be strongly associated with increased risk of developing dementia later in life.

Seeing if I'm going to nap before getting back to work. Probably will.

Oh René, ever are you akin to a concerned parent!

Also, to be fair, sleep deprivation doesn't exactly leave your body in great condition either.

Hey, if their actual parents won't step in... ;)

True. But this is temporary. Just look at my sleep-irregularity chart for the past 2 weeks!

It started when we took our night flight back to the UK, then persisted because of a sudden insane amount of work coming in all at once. :runaway:

Oof! Your sleep is all over the place! Yeah, I'd definitely say you need more sleep! Also, while sleep deprivation itself is often temporary, there are several long-term effects that result from regular sleep deprivation. So even though the lack of sleep is episodic in nature, its effects can be far-reaching.

Just between you and me (and, I suppose anyone else who reads this), I happen to think your parental side is incredibly cute.

By the way, what app (and/or) device do you use to track your sleep like that?

The app is Sleep as Android, which can work on its own (you put the phone in bed with you) or connect to smart devices like watches and fitness trackers. I have mine connect to the Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch I inherited from my dad. :3

(The watch can also track sleep on its own, but this app is more advanced and has a sidekick app that runs on the watch to take measurements.)

Anyway, you misunderstood! The above is literally a measure of irregularity (more minutes = more irregular). It's not sleep per night!

Here's sleep per night:

Screenshot_20210522-055722_Sleep.jpg

There's lots more statistics. And through the watch it also tracks my heart rate during sleep and stuff. :D

I do definitely appreciate your points, and I'm working on it!! And thanks, haha :keke:

Keeping up with the 3 kids is a job within itself. There’s one on the way. So in the next couple of weeks there going to be a baby.

I'm trying (to no avail, it would seem) to work myself into a state of flow, or perhaps simple hyperfocus. I've a great deal of reading and writing to do, and can't do it unless I go into my weird work-trance.

Have you considered going to bed?

(Yeah, I know, I'm one to talk. In my defence, I've been getting stuff done!)

I have considered it, yes, but I'm not going to do so. Thanks, however, for caring enough to suggest it

I'll explain why I'm staying up later and not on the forum.
