What are you drinking?

Think he's commenting on my and René's flavoured coffees.

Mine. I'm not much of a flavoured coffee fan. Hazelnut is acceptable, but only just.
Take no heed of what I think about coffee, though. I usually drink lukewarm instant out of a thermos, so it's not like I'm an authority.

Mad wi' it

Most of what I drink is freshly-ground espresso made in my moka pot, but the flavoured instant can be nice every once in a while, especially when paired with something tasty like a pastry.

Re: What are you drinking?
Some people in this world are plain coffee drinkers, some like it flavoured. I myself have spent most of my life drinking regular plain old coffee and I love it, but I have a strong suspicion I'd also like flavoured coffee, even if it is a bit taboo to say it. I guess when it comes to coffee I probably swing both ways.

I’ve been drinking water...lots of it every day. It’s because I no longer drink lots of soda every day...

Drinking is responsible for the equivalent of some 4 to 5 Covid-19 pandemics' worth of deaths to date every single year. And it's a social contagion. I think of not drinking much like wearing a mask during this pandemic.

Re: What are you drinking?
So much hard eggnog, with extra brandy.
Also, margaritas and piña coladas.
My mom has a very well-stocked bar.

Interesting that hard got specified. (Is this eggnog that has an erection?

I don't think I ever had anything but alcohol free eggnog. The first time was probably when I was about 19, and a college class met at the professor's house in December. She served non-alcoholic eggnog, probably premade grocery store type. I think she made some crack about serving the alcoholic type if anyone was old enough. She knew damn well no one was (first year class, with 18/19 year olds).
Eggnog is probably something I'll never have again--I now avoid dairy. Non-dairy eggnog exists, but I also try to avoid added sugar. I might have some at a holiday party--but I don't see myself buying a carton to entirely consume on my own.

And if the discussions get frustrating enough with lots of incidents like those reported in the facepalm thread, that bar might be pretty depleted by the end of the visit!

His mom has the store-bought alcoholic kind.
Brenden sometimes makes no-added-sugar eggnog at home

Actually significantly better than regular IMO!
He could probably make a vegan version. I wonder what that would taste like.

Only one way to find out!
I did a fast search, and there are recipes out there.

Yes, eggnog traditionally is made with alcohol (and aged for many months), and yes most people are only familiar with the store-bought drinking custard as eggnog, hence the specification.
