It's not so much the dish as the preparation. You have your omelettes, your onion soups, your patés and everything else that could be very plain if they're not done properly.

Personally... I'm a fan of... butter-dipped clover brioche rolls crusted with fleur de sel.

Ate the kids baby shark cereal. Sugary cereal should be banned with small children. Especially since these kids more than likely have ADHD like both their parents.

Currently I'm simmering a big pot of stock. I had to hit three stores before I found a whole chicken, and I got the last one. Smith's had a soviet bread line queue of people waiting to get a ration of toilet paper directly off the loading truck. At least they weren't letting people buy multiple packs.

Not a big fan of chocolate in general but I hear dark chocolate over seas tend to taste better than American milk and dark chocolate.

Crushed avocado on toast with an ungodly amount of hot sauce drizzled over.

I was at a festival once, saw a guy selling avocado on toast. I'd never had avocado before, so shelled out £5 for what I had assumed must be a magical experience. It was alright. Fucking music festivals, man...

My disappointment was matched only by the Twinkie. Only recently widely available here. I paid £1 for a single Twinkie after seeing Zombieland. It was meh.

On the topic of hot sauce, during my time of illness, I bought Encona’s Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce as a decongestant. It reads scarily, but the sauce is actually only like 5% Carolina reaper and is actually quite flavoursome. If you like spicy, I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

An avocado costs like 80p and a slice of bread costs like, what, 10p for an artisan variety? You got ripped off!

Also, avocado must be seasoned with salt and goes really well with capsicum flavours.

So if you just had plain avocado on some cheap toasted bread, and paid £5 for the pleasure, then of course you'd be disappointed. :P

I was stood in the front row, watching Pictish Trail and positively fuming.

It was fancy avocado on toast. :P

They haven't! We have plenty of crispbreads and crackers and bread and I literally just baked seeded fennel crackers earlier in the day. René is just

René just isn't half-assing it. When René says he likes tzatziki, he isn't kidding. This is not the time for half measures.
