Euphoric due to too much chocolate. Everyone seems to be hitting the alcohol this week, but I've been dosing on good ol' choclit.

If you're "not good with words", that's 100% on the therapist to help you with. They got you. Also, it might be a good idea to look into online counselling.

So very true. It's an almost surreal experience that, after a few sessions with a counsellor/ therapist you connect with, you find yourself talking about things you wouldn't have imagined being able to say out loud.

See that just inherently scares the living shit out of me. Which I guess paradoxically is a big part of why I need therapy to begin with. Ah the inherent catch-22 of my nonsensical fucking existence.

Today: chocolate flavoured huel, 3 jaffa cakes, a home made brownie, half a box of millionaire bites (11pcs), and a chocolate doughnut. I still have half of a slab of chocolate from Hotel Chocolat in my cupboard that I'm pretending doesn't exist right now.

When I started therapy, I was the same way. Wearing my heart on my sleeve scared me shitless. With that, I'm now studying to be a therapist. I apologize in advance if I sound like I have a big head, but I'd like to think that's a huge success story. My point is, If you never try it, you'll never know what you can because.
That'll be 500 bucks.

That's a lot of choclit. I've been trying that chocolate flavoured huel myself recently, I find the secret is to make it with milk, use a hand blender and leave it in the fridge for a bit first. It bumps it up to about 600ish calories per serving, but its way more acceptable.

It's totally ok and natural that you're scared of the prospect of it. It is terrifying thinking that we're capable of talking about such private things with someone - that there is a circumstance in which this can and does happen. There's a couple of things I want you to also know though: it'll only happen when you want it to and it will only happen because you finally feel it's safe to do so. That said, you need to at least be in a place where at least some part of you is wanting to change. If you're not at all wanting to put in the effort to change, no matter how good the therapist is, you'd be wasting your time.

I know I'm spiralling but I'll get over it shortly. I use 250ml of milk, 150~g of powder, and the top the rest up with water, add a sweetener and blend it in one of those bullet things then leave it in the fridge for a bit. I'm only drinking them to maintain weight since it seems to be the only way I can stay above being underweight.

Yeah, I've started giving the new high protein "Huel Black" formulation a go. I'm trying to build a little muscle and strength for a while. I tried the vanilla regular one a while ago and thought it was horrible. But this one, I'm getting along with. I mix 500ml of semi-skimmed milk with 90g of the powder. Blend it and chill it for a pretty easy 650 calories and 60 grams of protein, with a pretty decent hit of vitamins and minerals.

I only have 1 a day, I assume you have more with you using 90g of powder and aim of building/maintaining muscle? Strangely, I like th vanilla pre-made ones they do but not the chocolate, yet I hate the vanilla powder...

MyProtein Impact Whey Protein powder is the best I've found so far and comes in lots of nice flavours. Just watch out for the codes you sometimes have to use to get it for a reasonable price, like "BEST" at the moment.

I'm hesitant to rest on it too heavily dietarily, or at least I have been. I've been using it during work time. I'll have breakfast before I leave the house, have two servings of Huel through the day - ideally 4-5 hours apart - and then when I get home decide on what I want for dinner by balancing my total calorie burn so far against my intake, which is usually about 1600-1800 or so.

I'll probably leverage a little more of it into my diet during my furlough time as it's a quick, easy and cheap source of calories that lets me remove the temptation of binging or eating shit simply out of boredom and convenience. I want to try and lift my protein intake per day up to around 200 grams, and this would make that a lot easier in general and a lot easier to do whilst balancing fat, carbs and protein intake.

I am a little worried that in three months, I'll be happy with progress and then become a little obsessive and stop letting myself indulge from time to time, but I already know if I don't take pretty strict control from day one, I'll just end up eating biscuits all day.

I don't think that appears to really bring much to the table apart from simple addition of protein? I think, unless you can convince me otherwise, a product that delivers a comparable amount of protein whilst also delivering carbs, fats and a mix of vitamins and minerals would surely be better?

How do you find your hunger levels with it? I've noticed if I substitute my lunch at work for it, I can go a solid 6 hours before I start to feel hunger compared to only 2-3 hours if I have 'normal' lunch e.g. meat+salad+carbs/sandwiches + snack.

That's one of the selling points for me - it's just so easy to get everything without effort and scale up/down as desired. Because I'm genetically lazy.

The other product of theirs I use all the time is their Complete Breakfast Blend, which is unfortunately currently so out of stock that they don't even have the product page up :P

That has more stuff in it than protein.

It's also worth bearing in mind that eating too much protein will actually suppress your testosterone production, which can reduce your libido for instance. This is part of a negative-feedback mechanism that regulates protein synthesis.

Thank goodness, I want to suppress it because my hair is getting a little thin :( could also be the years of excessive self application of bleaches and dyes. Though also if we're doing PSAs, water intake needs to be increased to help the kidneys deal with the extra protein.

I find my hunger pretty manageable, I generally have the second helping without really feeling hungry, more just knowing that time has passed. But then, I might not be a good example because I generally manage my hunger by just keeping myself busy and distracted and having set times that I eat so that my body adopts the routine.

Yeah, I get much the same way. Plus, I ordered it on subscription, but didn't actually get myself into the routine of using it regularly until some considerable time after I started ordering. Do I've accidentally built up a supply that I need to get through anyway. Tbh, I'm almost toying with adopting it fully for a little while and seeing how I get along. Because I get the feeling I'd start going to the supermarket just to have somewhere to go, and with no plan I can't be trusted in the supermarket. I buy all manner of shit.

Or! Counter-proposal! If you don't die of viral plague, you bake me a cake and bring it to me in three months?

I will see you on Friday 3rd July. :D
