I live in a typical suburb. We have both black and white cops. We also have blacks and whites living together. I've never felt anyone was beneath me. Or a second class citizen. I have no problem calling a black guy a black guy. And he calls me white.
Were all human right?
What's it like where you live?

I live like 9 minutes away from downtown columbus... close enough to hear firearm being shot the last couple nights. I live in a low income area. townhouses pretty much. The area I'm at is mainly black people and low income. We've been getting free snacks for the three kids since school has called off because of covid 19 charity and doing it for the summer too they send us snack packs for the kids weekly. We've been using the food pantry, increase of food stamps these past couple months. I got my stimulus check 1200... lol I spent it on my laptop and use the rest to get other personal needs and helping out with food and such. I'm on disability... My friends cousin who also lives with us is on disability. My friends girl is an STNA and my friend is trying to get back on disability. There's 3 kids living with us so it's crowded. We may be lower income but one thing is for sure.. the kids are being fed, clothed, and taking care of.

All whites are complicit in white supremacy.

There are steps and sacrifices you can make toward reparations. You can take me out to dinner and put out. How does Chipotle sound?

And risk offending Michael and Brenden in removing healthy mucosa from the lining of my rectal walls? Besides it would be docking, if anything. I have a Chinese finger trap we could use. I got it from Johnny from one of his Grindr dates after they went to Panda Express.

I wonder if guys like Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington who for years have always promoted the idea that blacks in the U.S. fare poorly due to their own failures still believe that after all this.

I really find it absurd how a lot of recent articles have adopted the obnoxious habit of academics referring to historically-marginalized peoples as “bodies.” Why would anyone want to normalize and adopt the historical habit of treating people as fungible commodities? Why do lefty activists insist on adopting needless esoteric language at a time when these ideas and concepts would be better served being readily accessible to the masses?

I can't say I'm familiar with this. Could you give an example of this usage?

Um... not entirely up on the jargon. An emphasis on the physically coercive nature of the oppression (as obviously apparent in the killing of Floyd)?

But yeah, I get you. I often feel that dropping jargon or quite specific theory-leaden language into popular writing can be a bit wearing. I'd generally want people to use simple language that's widely accessible. You don't want to alienate the people you're talking to. I mean, at basis, what could be more hideously simple as yet another image of a black man being killed by police officers? I think maybe the clarity of a preacher is required to put this across: this is just wrong.

But then again, it keeps happening. I suppose lots of people have fulminated and raged against this sort of injustice already. And it keeps happening. I dunno.

Like these:

Westwood wrote:He acknowledges, "You have whites who are allies and are very sympathetic to what is taking place to black bodies. But at the same time, you have other whites using that same energy to carry out their own agenda.

Link

USC Anneberg Media wrote:The disrespect of the black body in America has been prevalent for nearly 500 years. We aren’t even wishing for racism to end; we know that isn’t happening.

Link

The Daily Beast wrote:Because that’s fundamentally what’s happening in America,” he continued. “Police in America are looting black bodies.” While some might think that’s an “extreme phrase,” Noah assured them that it’s not.
