I've lived in my flat for over a year now and I still have two framed posters sat on the floor behind me door that I really need to figure out some way of putting up on the wall without drilling holes in the place.

I'm thinking WTF?

Scientists are worried the virus is disappearing quicker than the time they have to come up with a vaccine to make the virus disappear.

Er... I think you misread... what's more, you misread a highly outdated story from late May.

The story was about a particular (individual) scientist being worried (4 months ago) that the virus was (at the time) disappearing too fast (in one particular country: the UK) to be able to properly test a (particular, already developed) vaccine and prove that it is effective (using the trials they had planned there).

Note also that the situation has changed massively. Daily new cases are currently spiking in many parts of the world, including the UK.

The story was also never highly relevant since you can always test somewhere else and there are currently 321 vaccine candidates being developed and tested all over the world.

Somehow I knew either you or René would just immediately have the answer to this.

OT: I'm thinking how awkward it is to run into someone in real life that you've intimately spoken to on Grindr cause that happened to when I popped to the garage earlier and there was just this awkward beat where we both just looked at each other before hurriedly moving on and avoiding eye contact.

I've deleted Grindr, but I imagine I would just be amused and try to use the opportunity for some in-person social contact, which I don't get a lot of (especially now).

I go through stages of deleting Grindr and being sick of it... but then I go through phases of being what could charitably be described as 'absolutely gagging for it' and it always leads me back to the thing.

I'm thinking I am entirely too obsessed with the current legal proceedings between Apple and Epic. From reading their respective filings to expert opinions on the matter, to various journalists reporting. I can't get enough.

I'm gripped.

What’s the dispute over?

It's the whole Fortnite fiasco.

Essentially, Epic decided to breach their terms of service by providing an alternative, in-app payment method, to Apples contractually required In App Purchase. Apple removed Fortnore from the appstore with a requirement that Epic return it to compliance. Epic then launched a massive, preplanned lawsuit to challenge Apples monopoly of the iOS app market with an antitrust lawsuit.

it's partly Tim Sweeney, Epics CEO, waging a supposedly ideological battle against Apple I have found most engaging.

Tim has been using social media and a massive marketing campaign, to leverage public opinion against Apple, it's been both fascinating and grotesque.

Watching Apple, at first approach the matter in a professional and detached manner, then turn to an exacting and brutal assault on much of the hypocrisy on Epics part, has also been quite salacious.

Epic claims the lawsuit is over the 30% cut Apple gets for IAP. But I think Apple has done a good job of demonstrating, that what Epic wants, is to dismantle the closed economy ecosystem model that the iOS (and other platforms) rely on.

Epic is partly owned by the Communist Party of China.

Yes, Tencent, who have a 40% stake in the business. But then Tencent pretty much owns a large chunk of Americas entertainment industry and its intellectual properties.

But it is interesting, that Epic seems set on attacking both Apple and Google (who they have also brought an antitrust lawsuit against) not long after the west has begun to move against one of China's largest mobile telecommunications businesses. Huawei.

I'm not saying there is a direct link, but it does raise questions.

I rather do suspect, this is more about Epic, wanting to insert it's own app store on the iOS and not have to share profits with Apple for the privilege. It would also set a similar precedent for them to bring similar suits against console manufacturers, such as Microsoft and Sony, potentially even Nintendo.
The financial benefits, in the unlikely event that Epic wins, are considerable.

Apparently I'm getting accused of sexual and physical abuse towards the kids and saying stuff like we have weapons in the house even though we all have mental health issues and wouldn't be able to get one legally anyways.

That all sounds very stressful Erti. I can't really offer much in the way of constructive advice or help, but I can say I hope things get sorted out as quickly as possible.
