I do prefer matinee shows when I go to London for theatre-related purposes so the matinee on Sunday 24th would be better for me.

I like not having to worry about train times to get home late in the evening, okay!?

And circle. Always circle.

Then why did you concede to 8pm curtain?!

Booked. It’s a month ahead. So you’re in charge of not letting me forget.

Oh pish.

I've been to see it twice. Great fun. You always have the folks down the front who bring all the paraphernalia to join in. It's never been a formal or uptight kind of thing.

Sure, everyone usually jumps up and joins in with the songs, but you don't have to sing. You don't even have to dance (it's usually difficult wedged between the seats!) but you can participate as much as you choose too.

You should go see it.

but the real question is will they be screening for Covid at the door? Don't think I'd want to be in a closed environment with a bunch of people singing even if they did

Given your circumstances, I should imagine extra caution is advisable.

But I highly doubt they will be screening for covid here. I mean, most people have been vaccinated and people can enter pretty much any other enclosed space with out screening, with the exception of hospitals... well, I'll let you figure out the rest :P

Derek has inspired me to adopt a diet, but instead of vegetarianism it’s that I’ll only now eat pre-Colombian foods. We should all work to decolonize our colons from oppressive white fare!

Random question… vegans don’t eat animals or animal by products… does that include cum or human breast milk?

You just reminded me of this song that had a line that went, “In California with a vegan chick. She said the only meat she eat is dick.” Not sure if that answers your question.

Edit: Found it

Either way I can’t imagine eating beef and barley all day every day. Good god, it’s a mystery how Europeans chugged along for this long without tomatoes, corn, avocados, vanilla or cacao.

I don't know. I could easily live on Indian food or Japanese food and never eat meat or a new-world crop again.

Do you know what made me think about becoming vegetarian? I saw something on twitter that reminded me of an argument I made on GTF ages ago. It was something about how if it's ethical to slaughter animals in order to eat them, then beastiality can't really be considered out of bounds. Michael argued against this using what was basically a social conservative argument. That beastiality degraded us in ways that are intangible. At the time I found it convincing, and I still do to an extent, but the vegetarian argument strikes me as much more robust.

I mean, getting access to spices and new foods was kind of one of the impetuses for exploration and colonisation.

Have you ever had pre-Columbian Indian food, though?

But cheese is sentient? And eggs?

Me thinks the vegans are making exceptions so they can ply their cum guzzling ways.

But even from an old world perspective, I guess it's possible people living in what would later become the Beijing area might have thought, "Blech, I'm sick of millet. Let's see what they're eating down south ... "
