I was called for jury service just yesterday! If chosen for voir dire I intended on letting the judge and attorneys that I would instruct all jurors of jury nullification given that we as jurors don’t have to issue any statements of decision or just any justification for how we decided or why. :awesome:

I know about jury nullification too. They wouldn't be pissed if you told them you would intentionally cause a mistrial?

Of course you could always just make your internet history public, like LP. That would relieve you of any civic duty for sure.

I think it's more not being in debt to a bank for years. Even with rent you can move whenever you want. ( I'm not talking leases and all that jazz) I have a 20 year mortgage on my place I'd kinda like to get rid of too.
It'd be nice to be able to get up and leave whenever you want. :3

I wish I had my mortgage back. But the again the interest rate was about 1.8%. It was almost like steeling money. You can always decide to rent the palace you own. And unless you simply rent a room somewhere, any even remotely decent place will require a lease. Besides the reason stated was purely financial.

Oh, unless you went negative, you have the asset the loan is against so you have the opposite of debt.

My idea of freedom is what Victor said. Having a home is great and it’s a nice investment.
But being tethered down to a mortgage and single is a nightmare. For me it is.
I know I’ll meet someone and I wouldn’t assume my potential partner would want to live there.
Other than that it’s a lot of other factors. I’m not happy there as well.

Is everything Ocasio-Cortez tweets going to be front page news from now on? I think she's fine but honestly they're not all winners.

I think you’re just jealous all your posts don’t get the attention they deserve and instead get trampled over in a forum where people can’t even tie their own shoelaces.

Landed Oakland Airport around midnight last night. Flying right back out today. Spent about 9 hours at home. Even got some laundry done.

I really should put some time on my calendar to just chill.

Is the implication here that you can tie your own shoelaces? You never +1 my posts.

Honestly though, don't you think the left in this country is constantly shooting itself in the foot with its own hagiography? They gush all over someone until even liberals are sick of hearing their name, by which time conservatives have formed their own counter-cult of personality, except theirs never runs out of steam.

Aww, poor guy, you folks be mean! :P

But yeah, I do feel sorry for that guy, I saw advertisements for a television show about people who had extreme plastic surgery but couldn't bring myself to watch it. That guy was one of the people on it.

I don't know what possesses people to go to such extreme lengths to look a different way than how they do to begin with, I mean, yeah, a makeover is one thing, but turning yourself into a parody of plastics :wide-eyed:

I can't imagine looking like that, being an improvement over just about anything else.

But then, I've had insecurities about my appearance (who of us hasn't? Right?) but never to the extent that I felt compelled to alter my face to such a degree, I guess that for some people, it's so deep rooted a problem, they will try anything, do anything to change how they look and how they percieve themselves.
