Ok, let’s reframe this particular little instance, hopefully we can be a bit more direct and you’ll see where I’m coming from.

Imagine this forum wasn’t online, but was a social club. A group of like minded people that meet in a shared venue to socialise. Real people in a real place. In that instance, by all means share a pondering about a phone contract with the group. Maybe someone will have something to say. Don’t then repeat your pondering verbatim 40 minutes later because people were understandably not that interested in talking about your phone contract with you.

This forum operates by attracting people to join in with discourse. Yours is not a style of posting given to promoting conversation. Just read back through your post history. It reads like someone who has been promised a reward if he gets to a certain number of posts. If you have, you’ve been lied to. There is no reward. Just the promise of slowly alienating everyone.

If you want to expel a stream of unfiltered consciousness, by all means go start yourself a wordpress blog and scream whatever banalities into the aether that you find helpful. I wish you all the success in the world with it. Don’t do it here, all you’re doing is selfishly alienating people from joining, people that may well have something more interesting to say that they just washed the dishes. You can indeed post whatever you want, the forum is very easy to operate. You aren’t entitled to do so.

I’m not attacking you. Think of it as mentoring. Let’s try going for quality posts over quantity. You don’t have to post if you have nothing to say.

I hardly see how I am repelling people from the site. People have the choice to ignore what they have read on this forum. You chose not to do. I've seen a few posts on here that didn't particularly interest me. I just moved on from them.

That’s not the point. People can ignore you, yeah, but they shouldn’t have to. They have to read your empty drivel before they realise that it’s shit and they have no interest in it even within the context it’s presented. That leads people to form opinions, and opinions are what lead someone to take part or not.

By all means spark up a conversation. You’ll note when other people post about things they’ve purchased, it’s not just an update on the literal last thing they purchased. Otherwise that thread would be an endless repetition of things like “bus fare” and “a sandwich”. Nobody gives a fuck. Nobody cares about someone else’s ham sandwich. If you’ve got something interesting to say, say it. Otherwise, stop posting shit.

Well I don’t know why else you’d give me advance notice that you were going to say something bitchy to me?

You’re totally trying to win the last word game.

Methinks someone gives a much more massive fuck that he’d have me believe.

As much as I hate to undermine Marmaduke's point, I actually have something to say on this topic

Paying £1400+ for a phone + 2 years of service is generally not a very smart thing to do IMO. You could have got the phone for £799 at launch more than 2 months ago, and you still can. If you're really into saving money, don't mind a grey import and are willing to wait a week or two to get it, you could even get it for £507 at this point*.

*The latter is what I usually do. I bought my S9 for like £450 in June 2018. I just sold it (in excellent condition) for £425. Similar with the S8 before that, and now I have an S10.

The key downside to a grey import is that warranty claims in the UK could be rejected, so it is a good idea to get insurance that covers it, but the cost of that is much less than the amount you'd pay extra getting the phone from EE (it can be under £10/month; in my niche case I'm able to get it for effectively £3.38/month).

Of course you have to factor in the service you get along with the phone, but very few people need 60 GB/month or whatever it is they give you. The average person in the UK uses about 2 GB/month, which needn't cost more than like £7.50.

I dont see any harm in posting what you bought or what your thinking in the appropriate threads. Even if it may seem miniscule or simple.

Everyone socializes and expresses themselves differently.

Ive never felt alienated by you member/Ant/ :3

As far as phone plans go I'm pretty happy with mine. However, i'm in the US so it's different. I pay $45 dollars a month for my plan along with the $33 dollars for 18 months when i got the Iphone Xr. So I pay $78 a month for everything until i pay off my phone. At sprint they rip you off even though I get boost and sprint owns boost. When i had Sprint they had me pay 130 dollars a month for my 2 year plan with a new phone. That was just for one phone! Ridiculous!

I'm scared to take my saphris even with the cogentin my doctor prescribed me today.
