Cause I don't like creased spines normally but sometimes I do. I've got a copy of Lord of the Rings from the 70s that my dad gave me and I've never seen a book more fucked up in terms of wear and tear on it but I still love it because it looks so well-read and well-loved.

That I'll be likely to die alone. I'm ok with that; really think I'll actually prefer that. I've been a "loner" personality all my life. I guess I took a break from that with my own direct family (kids) but now I see myself going back to that as a preferred way to live.

^^i guess it depends on the book and if you plan to sell it in the future. A long time ago i used to do foreclosure cleanouts. And found a first edition of catcher in the rye in not so good condition. But i really like the way it looks all beaten up. I think lord of the rings is a perfect book to look all weathered and show it had a life. Similar to my catcher in the rye book.

But money and collector wise the book's should be in the best condition as possible.
I have signed Shulgin editions of TIHKAL and PIHKAL. And i treat them like there gold. Mostly because they weren't cheap and were in great condition with certificates of authentication. I have no plan's on selling them but im still always very careful anytime i touch them.

So for me it all depends on the book and what you plan to do with them.

Seems depressing too though. Buy hey, it's not like having people around you can certainly save you.

I do hope you find companionship in life though.

I am surrounded by halfwits.

It's so frustrating to own a business and witness employees turning away money because they can't think for themselves. It's as if a restaurant turned away a party of 4 because all they have open is a table that seats 6. Ummm... really? I don't know how to teach people to think. (I did it with my own kids, but that took 16 years.) All I ask for is a little creativity and basic understanding of nuance. *sigh*

Um, didn't we have an exchange about how rewarding it is to be the boss... LoL

Me, I'm shamefully going to blow off some time riding two wheels. Street that it. Temps in the high 90's so skipping practice laps at the track today. I decided to not ride in those temps when I seen my buddy vomiting the last time we did that. Hell I got plenty of vacation so maybe I'll head to Pismo Beech and ride there for a couple days. Kids are back in school so mid-week should be relatively empty.

Very astute. As the boss I can go for a 2-drink lunch when employees or clients are too much to take. I never post business hours so I can close when I feel like it. If employees' boneheadedness means we lose out on some business — it's their potential pay raise that gets cut. It's good to be king. :pfft:

Those aren’t really a thing in this country, and even if we owned the apartment and make such alterations the French door (where they mainly come in) and window frames don't really support it.

high land desert environment here. Day time windows are shuttered. Last Tuesday was almost 100F but sunrise is much cooler than mid day so here open the windows over night and hope for the best.

Glad Taylor Nicole Dean finally is admitting she has addiction problems. Seeing her video's for awhile now and watching her spiral downward was awful.

Just hope she stays clean and can get her animal's back to the main focus of her channel.
If she can get her channel back to where it was pre-scumbag boyfriend. I honestly don't even know if she still has her pets tbh.
But she looks healthy and good and that's nice to see.

Did anyone else watch the VMAs? I was personally disgusted by Shawn and Camila’s performance. Just when you think we as a society have moved toward total gay liberation, these two set us back to the Ricky Martin days of the 90s. smh

A coworker overdosed today right after 9 o'clock break.
I was on the forklift bringing some wood inside and noticed a lot of my co-workers gathered by the break room. I first thought he got cut running the saw. But when i went to check what was happening. He was laying on the floor white as a ghost with another co-worker giving him CPR.

The cops and ambulance came and i swear i thought he was dead. He was fully unconscious. Overdoses are pretty common around here ( like the number one cause of death for young people. Even over car accidents) so the cops carry narcon with them. They gave it to him twice and he came around. They took him to the hospital after and im not sure how he is now.

Gotta say it was scary as hell. I really thought he was dead. He looked it at least but he did wake up.

Im sure he'll be back but there gonna make him do some rehab or something. I know he smokes weed and I've seen him do coke before but i didn't know he was doing heroin.

Surprisingly we had a meeting at the end of the day and all the bosses did was thank everyone for helping him and each other. I really expected them to try doing random drug tests or something. But they didn't say anything.

Just hope he's okay now and gets the help he needs.

^^he actually showed up this morning. I knew he had to come back to get his car which was still in the parking lot. And yeah they fired him. Said it was dangerous to the plant. Which i totally understand.

Im sure if he cleans himself up they will rehire him at some point. But at the moment there's not much we can do.
He tried saying he was "clean" for a year and a half and just relapsed yesterday. No one believes that lol. I kinda feel bad for him but it's all on him. So all i can do is shrug my shoulders and wish him the best.

On a different note. Just one episode in of Dragula and im already enjoying it. I like Priscilla a lot more then i expected. Yovska is sooooo awesome. Like creepy as hell and then out of drag is this cute little mexican twink that you can tell is a total sweetheart. And st. Lucia is surprising the shit out of me.

If it follows the drag race pattern. This and the next 3 season's are just gonna get so much better every year. This cast is definitely the strongest. Really only one queen stood out as bad and that was maxi but its only one episode in so it could have just been a bad week.

And omg the boulets are looking soooo fucking good. I can't wait to see their looks this season.

Oh, lol and now drag race has also announced a Canadian version. So litterally there are like 5 seasons all being recorded now around the world. I started at season 1 and I never would of expected it to blow up like it did. Im happy it did though.

Id say if you suspect where its from you should mention it to them. But if not mention it to your property manager.
I believe you live in a legal state. But even so i think neighbors should respect each other enough to say take that shit outside it's stinking up my apartment from a neighbor. But a lot of people aren't nearly as understanding as i am. So only mention it to them directly if you are freindly with each other. Otherwise mention it to the property management or landlord.
