What do you all think about this?

Overreacting/paranoid or sensible/responsible parenting?

Depends on the ages of the kids as far as I'm concerned. The younger the kid, the more limits I think are justified. But then, the older the kid the more likely they are going to explore down some dark cyber alleys. This level of parental control is extreme, and I'm guessing could be motivated by paranoia or religious isolationism.

More important than parental control is for parents to spend as much time with their kids as possible. Get them (and the parents) out of the house and away from the screens. The more time they spend interacting with parents and other adults in different settings, the more likely they will be to develop healthy social habits.

I have an instinctive dislike of people who edit their posts as a means of response to criticism. I'm comfortable declaring this one irredeemably evil.

I'm think I'm gonna get tickets to the hella mega tour.
It's green day, Weezer, and fall out boy.
The concert isn't for another year but the tickets are on sale now.
I haven't seen any of them in concert yet and have always wanted to see Weezer. I like green day and I don't dislike fall out boy.
Gotta get ahold of some of my friends and see who's down to go. Been over a year now since I've been to any concerts and that's just to long.

That the LGBT community is silly by being all rainbows, glittery, fun and sparkle. I cannot take it seriously. Pride marches are embarrassing. I rather be in an accident and emergency room, getting my hands and feet amputated.

It’s the only concert I’ve ever seen advertised that’s ever piqued my interest. (I still wouldn’t go though. Crowds and live music aren’t for me.)

I need to seriously put some effort into packing lunch for work. Uber Eats is great in the sense of convenience, but not exactly brimming with healthy options. Making lunch would also be a lot easier on the ol' pocket.

Are gods and goddesses real? I don't know but they talk to me sometimes. Now I hear spirits. I see demons. I don't see angels but angels are just demons that haven't fallen yet. The planet is going to die and we're all going to die... the sun burns and dies... everything dies. nothing last forever. But I will last until the end of everything and live as a dead person hanging out Zeus and shit. Aphrodite needs to stay away. I don't need that drama. I think everything is going to pop up and tell the police about me and send me to the hospital again because they're jealous of me for having this gift.

No, but doesn’t TJ’s have an even more limited product range, in a similar manner as Aldi?

We were trying to find a plain, full-fat Greek yogurt. Pretty much all the yogurt options were low or reduced fat, and most had bucketloads of added sugar. The highest fat plain yogurt we could find was Fage Total 5%, but that’s half the fat of proper Greek yogurt, and it cost 2.5 times as much as the plain Greek yogurt yogurt does in the UK.

I've made a few posts here and I realised, despite my many years of foruming, I had a brief moment of 'uhh, what is it to upload a picture again?'

I literally don't use a single forum anymore. Every one I've been on consistently active on (which has been many down the years) has died. It's sad.

I wonder what the 20s will bring for social media & online communities? The 00s were very much defined by forums, then the 10s saw the rise of "collective" social media like Facebook & Twitter which capitalised on the smart phone and the slow death of forums as they weren't able to keep up. I'm sure the 20s will bring something else.

I'll always be bias in support of forums.

The internet full of forums was kinda like walking down a high street with tons of independent quirky shops; not really knowing what you'll get in there, what the customers will be like, the quality, or if the owners will be crazy or nice :P

Now all online communities are focused pretty much all focused on Reddit, Facebook & Discord - a lot more impersonal, anonymous, you know what you're going to get for the most part, there's zero sense of adding to the community, and the owners are purely profit driven... but you end up going there because everyone else does. Sticking with the analogy, they're basically the shopping malls of online communities. It just isn't as fun.

I've tried a few Facebook groups and they're pretty much all dire.

We don't have trader Joe's around here. But from what I understand they are identical just under different names. Aldi's is shit. There awful. Although there brands are very cheap and usually okay quality.

We're a Country that is called fat everyday. What do you expect. But if you shop at certain stores you will find what your looking for. But expect Greek yogurt to cost more out here. It's sorta a fad at the moment out here.

What Brand's do you prefer in the UK?

I agree — that's part of what I like about living up in Scotland. If you get cold, you can always add another layer of clothes or turn the heating up. If it's too hot, you run out of clothes to take off.

Having said that, climate-change-induced weather extremes mean the Scottish temperature record is now actually the same as what is predicted to become the new one where you live: just over 33 °C or 92 °F. :runaway:

Capt._Trips wrote:What Brand's do you prefer in the UK?

We generally get store brands whenever possible (ideally from LIDL or ALDI as they're the cheapest and there is usually no discernible difference in quality). :awesome:

I'm curious on what Aldi stores are like in other places.
Out here there a discount store. Very little variety and usually there own Brand's are the focus. Actually thinking about it I don't think they sell any common popular Brand's.

The stores are very small and very basic. There's probably only 5 isle's with a dairy case in the back.
The carts are locked unless you put a quarter in and they don't bag anything. You have to either bring bags, ( but they still don't bag you have to go to a counter you do that from after you check out) buy them from them or hope to find a box.

Is it the same everywhere?
What about trader Joe's?
