The husband read to me an article where you get tons of vitamin D by baring your anus to the sun for thirty seconds.

So I guess I don’t need pills, I just need to moon the sun.

Did he perhaps refuse to let you read the article yourself, and instead simply insist that you trust him and that he would never make something like that up?

He would never lie to me about something so important. Tomorrow I’m going to do it, but I must take care not to do it for longer than thirty seconds as I’m worried I might overdose.

This mindset is exactly why America is the way it is and isn't getting better anytime soon. Why work to make it better if "nowhere in the world is great" and nowhere is "in reality" different?

Capt._Trips wrote:But you seem your mind is made up. And I'm nobody to try and change it.

You're the one with a closed, deluded mind. You're putting your fingers in your ears and refusing to acknowledge both objective and subjective evidence that other parts of the world can be better in various ways. Despite being interested in personal observations, you think you can pass judgement without ever leaving your little part of America and making your own observations.

Why do Americans associate Mexico with “fiestas”? All that means is party or, in certain contexts, festival. I don’t think they throw more of them in Mexico than the US. If anything, the US often celebrates and observes too any holidays, like Groundhog Day or other random bullshit. Is it because of the amount of excuses Mexicans give to simply get drunk together? I’m lost.

I keep thinking of early retirement. Assuming even an extremely conservative rate of return on savings, given the size of retirement and other investments, I can pack it in (work) and go just live. Sure I'd have to dial back my current lifestyle but some of that needs doing soon anyways. Exploring some different locations for three months at a time (typical visitor Visa length), hopefully find a place to spend a bit longer. Possibly even change citizenship or not. At that point current retirement should actually grow or cover inflation. Places like San Francisco, San Diego, LA, Chicago, CA, New York, etc are out but some other locations even in the states are doable. "Elsewhere" for a while will be good for me.

I spent about 6 hours on my Halloween costume for about 3 hours of partying & dancing. The good news is that I only spent about $20 on materials and won a $50 gift certificate at my favorite cocktail bar. I call that a worthwhile investment. Always a good time!

Florida man. You can get a house with a pool (completely screened in) for 250k...plus good gay scenes in most areas like Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Delray Beach, Jacksonville...just stay away from Miami otherwise you're looking at NYC prices.

EDIT: I hate to say it, but why do you think Trump, a literal rich ass hole, would choose FL of all places to spend most his time? Because the weather is good. Yeah, it gets really hot in the summer and the humidity sucks, but all the mid-atlantic and northern states have winter which prevent you from being outside, too.

Certainly I would trade low humidity nice climate for a rather decent gay scene. I do prioritize the gay scene a bit and I think that stands to reason. Thing about the states is medical is pretty costly without employer coverage and plan discounts. I looked at Covered CA plans and I can get decent medical for around $800. But then add dental. Add all the medical/dental co-pays, % pays etc and it gets up there. Still yes I've considered the locations you mentioned in Florida as all viable. I do like snow skiing but could be content with just a few trips per year. Florida has sand so motocross tracks are a go.

It really comes down to this though. The more I trim my life back to less is more, the more I like it. Honestly renting a condo/townhome in a nice place with garage and pool is way more appealing to me than owning. The idea of going on an extended journey is likewise appealing. Living for a few months at a time in different locations. Simply rent a room or such. I can put the bikes and the few other belongings I want to keep in storage for a bit. Simply drain the fuel and disconnect the batteries - that's it. All I need to take with me is the clothes on my back and a couple more changes. I think being elsewhere for a while will do me good.

So anyone got suggestions for outside the states beyond the few I've already considered. Places that have a decent gay life, affordable, reasonably safe, can get by with english and learning a little of the native language?

Gay culture is not that distinct from straight culture. They have Dr. Pimple Popper, we have Dr. Cum Control. In the end we are all one.

It's sad I know who both of them are. Lol.
Both serve some weird fetishes. But doctor pimple is popping much more then just pimples. Eck. Eck Eck.

I'd prefer cum coming out of a body then what she extracts. Eck. Js

^ The fortunate that did not know until we have been enlighten here...

Having read that and now taken time to get past the WTF period of recovery...

Here I am in Fucking Orlando again for work. If I did move to Florida it sure as hell would not be here. I've had my fill of this area, especially Disney World, Universal Studios and the rest.

The fact that I'm in a sushi place for dinner and having to listen to co-workers, most I don't know, sing karaoke quite poorly, likely has much to do with that sentiment. Even the sushi was meh.

Dr. Cum Control is a creepy and disgusting old fat dude who edges hot guys for several minutes until they explode. He’s in PornHub a lot. I hate him but I do secretly want to be him when I retire in the future.

But you’ve honestly never heard of Dr. Pimple Popper? Jesus, have you been living under a rock?

Oh, right, you live in Albuquerque. I take that back.
