If I ever did stuff like that as a kid I would be so beaten!

My roommate was on the verge of beating their asses but since CPS is on our asses we can only do so much. We’ll probably laugh about it later… right now I’m like wtf kiddos how the fuck am I going to discipline the kids.

Man and Horse 'Stirrup' Some Laughs as They Ride Through UK Filling Station 'Cause I'm on a horse'

Edit: There's a petro shortage in the UK, so this is what encouraged him to record this.

Today I had to laugh at myself :D

Did you know you have to unbuckle your seat belt before trying to get out of the car, And, trying to get out a couple of times before I figured out why I couldn't. Sometimes I'm so bright.

moments like these can be both funny and worrying. Like the time I spent 5 minutes looking for the keys I had in my hands  Or the time I thought it was saturday and that I didn't have work... only it was friday and my manager would beg to differ. :runaway:

I dont wear glasses, but I did once drive home with a pair of luminous orange safety Goggles perched on my head. I'd forgotten to take them off when I left work. That got a few peculiar looks.

Probably didn't help that I was pink from having worked with Rhodamine dye

But very similar.

I never understood Lego's success. I was one of the few left scratching their head when I learned that Lego had a theme park. When did that fucking happen? It's literally just plastic bricks.

True, I do like it when the opposite happens though. Which seems to be less frequent.

Some definitions of canceling specify that it's when people are ostracized by other members of their community, like when August Ames did homophobic tweets and was denounced by the entire porn industry. It's in those situations where canceling is likely to have meaningful consequences. The broader use of cancel culture seems less to me like a distinct phenomenon and more like regular politics being amplified by social media. Like, when JKR got canceled, it's because she staked a political position that earned her as much support as it did condemnation. There was no community she belonged to that had the leverage to actually punish her for her supposed betrayal. Which isn't to say there's nothing to criticize about how these things usually unfold - the invasion of privacy, the abusive rhetoric, the angry absolutism - but I have a hard time taking most complaints seriously. Anyway, I can't wait for ten years from now when we as a society have moved on from this conversation.
