Chilling out on my balcony in warm weather is insanely relaxing and made me happy.

As long as I keep headphones on because my balcony overlooks a main road...

I helped my sister set up some IKEA Tradfri HomeKit bits and pieces this evening, because she bought them but has no clue how they all work, she just wanted to be able to control her blinds without having to walk over to them, but she went mad and bought some light bulbs and light strips.

But whilst setting it up, I noticed her TV is HomeKit compatible. So I’ve added that.

And I’ve set an automation every morning at sunrise to switch the TV on, set the volume to 100% and play Conga by Gloria Estefan. And she’ll never find it.

I’ve not giggled to myself this hard in years.

I hope that volume is ear-safe! But that sounds awesome otherwise :D

I would looove smart blinds to complement my sunrise alarm (which I also wish wasn't dumb).

The ikea ones, I thought, were a little noisy in operation but super easy to set up and once they are, they’re super easy to automate. I think they’re probably as easy to set up with any number of android-based home automation platforms. Just replace your current dumb alarm with something like a Google Home Mini or Echo Dot or HomePod Mini.

I just need it to be able to do a gradually increasing bright light simulating a sunrise, including early on winter mornings when it's still dark out, for gently waking up for early flights. If that can be managed smartly without going to great expense, that would be amazing. :)

Decided to see what musicals are going to be being put on in the West End this year, to look into going to see some when such activities are allowed again because it's been far too long since I've been able to see a musical on stage and it's kind of killing my soul.

And it turns out that this year there's a limited run of Hairspray over the summer, and there's a stage version of Moulin Rouge starting in October.

So needless to say I am very excited. :awesome:

... yes, I'm excited about musicals. I am just a shameless stereotype.

My best friend's mom, with whom I'm currently living, told me that I could live with her as long as I need to, or even want. She said to me that I need not apply for public housing, and that I could instead simply pay my share of the utilities once I get social security income. But what really brought me a moment of immense gratitude, as well as a feeling of being loved (which I struggle to feel), was when she told me that after my friend's brother goes to college in two years, I could even move with her to Massachusetts and live with her there too, because she thinks she'll likely move once her son (my friend's brother) goes off to college. Mary (my friend's mom) is truly an amazing person, and a far greater one than I'd thought before—which, of course, isn't to say I thought her a bad person before, just not necessarily an excellent one. Frankly, seeing as she was serious, I'm in awe of her offer and never knew my friends (and even their parents) loved me so dearly. I don't know how long this will last, but for the present moment I feel very, very good and supremely grateful to have such people in my life.

Boyfriend being excited to watch me play an RPG. :keke:

Also the other day, he said "René, would you be a doll and get some tea going for us?"
I thought that was cute. :3

Got a bit of local election campaign literature in the letterbox for the Conservative Party and dropping it straight in the bin was very satisfying.

I'm going to talk to be my therapist in 15 minutes. I've not been able to talk to him for the past week and half, because he was out of town for Passover.

tried on some jeans... I got 10s that were stretchy but I’m between 10s and 12s... idk how the sizes comes in compared to men’s sizes. I’m so happy I’m in a smaller sizes.

I’ve been playing the Mario Luigi and Gary game between work days. I’ve been fixing errors and I also made some alterations to make the game more enjoyable.
