I'm not sure your post makes all that much sense. You "too got since?"

Ugh, stupid auto correct. “I too got sick back in July.”

Work is going really well. I'm totally on top of it for the first time in what feels like forever. I'm actually getting around to my non-work to-do list. :runaway: :awesome:

Apparently I can get comprehensive car insurance for just like £30/month. Never having had my own car or insurance before (though having held my licence for more than 15 years), I was expecting £100-200/month. Thinking about getting a car now. I could teach Brenden to drive stick and RHD so he can finally get a valid licence again after his Michigan one expired years ago :D

How’s public transportation in Scotland? If I lived in a well planned city, rather than shithole LA, I think I’d forgo owning a car. Maybe it’s just that driving every day to work has taken all the joy out of it for me.

It's pretty great. We live in the middle of nowhere yet have electric trains, usually about 6 per hour in various directions from our little station, and there's a bus that goes all over town. I think I heard that 95% of people in Scotland live within a 5-minute walk of a bus stop.

The train is also much nicer than driving usually. You can get your laptop out (there's free power and WiFi!) or do whatever you want while you wait to arrive at your destination. Safer too.

We definitely don't need a car. It'd be a luxury for getting to nature places for hikes and stuff, in the more poorly accessible parts of the Scottish Highlands for instance. (Impressively, quite a lot of that, too, is accessible by trains, with beautiful views. Including e.g. the ones that run over the viaduct made famous by the Harry Potter movies. :D)

In addition to train viaducts, we also have aqueducts taking canals over rivers and roads:

And the ingenious engineering didn't stop in the 1800s!

I just learned that Ewan McGreggor’s brother David is a fighter pilot in the RAF, and they gave him the call-sign “Obi-Two”

Thanks :keke:

I find it quite rewarding, and it's way more fun than work (especially as it's an excuse to listen to audiobooks without feeling like I'm wasting time), so it's quite easy to find the motivation. I wish I could be over there all the time (except that I need to recover). :D

I do all the weight machines, then the one cardio machine I can do that doesn't bother my knees or feet, then all the weight machines again, a few times a week.

I think I’ve settled on the hamburger humour in the movie The Pink Panther as the purest source of comedic joy in the world to me.

This is my stupid, childish sense of humour. No matter how many times I see it, it makes me grin.
