I need a new avatar that reflects my personality but I think having Edvard Munch's The Scream next to every one of my posts could be a bit too off-putting... fucking on-brand though.

OT: On my walk home from work there was an older man walking ahead of me with headphones on. He didn't know I was there because he was dancing to himself as he walked. Not just a little rhythm either he was fucking going for it. It brought me significant amounts of joy.

I stopped for an impromptu haircut today at Supercuts. Never really been one for a chain, but the guy seemed super confident and seemed to take a lot more care about my relatively simple hair specifications than anyone else has before. So much so, that I somehow managed to completely relax and fall asleep whilst he was doing it. He had to wake me up at the end. :wide-eyed:

Seeing that this thread has more views than 'What put a frown on your face today' thread, even if the other has more replies. :D

Also, seeing old names on here that I haven't seen in a years.

I’ve sometimes felt drowsy while getting a haircut but I’ve never fallen asleep.

A while back my company declared every 2nd Friday of the month as Wellness Friday. So instead of screwing off like my norm, I'm actually following company guidelines. LoL

Even though it's unofficial that I'm retiring as we are just waiting on HR to do it's thing, my manager has already redirected my work to others. In other words, between now an what is assumed to be my last day of March 20th, I'll be collecting a paycheck for doing absolutely nothing. Although it might sound like a great thing to have so much idle time, it's actually one of the challenges I had with it over the last 20 years.

I feel you. I remember the first time I went out to do geological trenching: you basically watch a digger for ten minutes as it strips soil down to the natural layers, take a photo, and write a few notes, then sit in the jeep for three hours. Rinse and repeat. It's great for the first day, then it slowly becomes so agonising that you're about ready to dig the trench yourself. :P

Not really sure. Sometimes I see a post on Facebook of an old GTFer that I haven't spoken to in years. I still keep up with a couple of people. :gayblahblah:

I also took a look at that thread and a lot of it is people trying to problem solve, for better or for worse I guess.

I remember the first time I paid for a haircut (that was 40 years ago). The woman first washed my hair, then massaged my scalp, then hummed a haunting tune the whole time. I didn't fall asleep, but I almost jizzed under the apron. Best haircut of my life.

The hair washing and stuff reminds me of the haircuts I used to get in Holland. They were so expensive (something like €30 or $44 if I recall correctly, and that was at the cheapest place in my town), I hated getting my hair cut there and actually started planning trips to the UK around when I wanted to get my hair cut (where it only cost £5 or $8 and they skipped the stupid hair-washing stage and people would simply take a shower before going). :P

You actually crossed borders to get a decent haircut?!

I wouldn't know, of course. Its been three years since I've cut my hair. People think it's a religious thing, at this point. :P

I was also seeing my English boyfriend at the time, but yeah, the easyJet flight tickets cost about the same as a haircut did in that godforsaken place.

A heavy goods vehicle has broken down right across the main gates at my place of work, as such nobody can get on or off of site and my workload is sitting at a very manageable zero. I’m not normally one for not having anything to do, but I’ve been feeling like a nap all morning and the lord has heard my prayers.

In short: Rode with two mx friends who we three use to ride together often. They got more into a bit more serious racing and I wont take those chances at my age now. Been a while since the three of us rode. Also a newer guy to mx who we also seem to becoming friends joined us.

A bit of a frown too: I didn't bother to invite my Trump loving mx friend. I may not have mentioned his graphics on his bike that proclaim Trump. At this point I don't really want to be around that, at all. We've carpooled together to some of the farther places we go to ride but never again will I let that bike in the back of my truck with those graphics. In short here - he either wakes up a bit about his xenaphobia (and the rest of the bull shit) or I'll just not bother associating with him. I already distanced myself from him a bit as I'll no longer ride trail with him, his dad and a few others. I'd rather be laying on the trail half dead by myself than compromise anymore on my values in that area.

In short, confirmed with my manager while we had a call dealing with an different but unpleasant issue for him. March 20th will be my last day. He confirmed he and the next level manager agreed on the date which is part of the process detailed by HR. There was a possibility I could have ended up with an October date that would go well for no one. Some good karma. He also said he believe's I'm all confirmed as there were not many heads from our division which at that level basically covers North America. Well this being an offer from the US HR Group - I believe that's all she wrote. Still waiting for the official notification as that's "legally bound" time for all.

The first day off after a particularly tough week was great, though I did have a longer nap in the late afternoon than I would’ve preferred.

I’m finished redesigning the character sprites for cinematic conversations in my game and I am making more with specific emotions as needed. I’m creating a pre battle cinematic for a boss battle in a dungeon I’m finishing up. Good times.
