I may be able to go on another walk on Saturday, and possibly climb another Corbett on Sunday!

Fingers crossed that I go from the waitlist to attending for the first and/or someone can give me a life for the second (I hate not being able to drive :pfft: ).

Why can't you drive? That must severely limit where you can travel, even for basic small trips like the bank or grocery store.

Why can't you drive?

My Michigan driver’s licence expired when I turned 21, at which point I had already been living in the UK for about 2.5 years, and was only valid in the UK anyway for the first 1 year after moving. So I’d have to take the UK’s driving test to get a new licence, but it costs a pretty penny and I don’t really need it (see below), so the cost is pretty much a luxury expense I’ve been putting off. I’ve also been nervous about doing it since the UK’s test is significantly harder than US tests (which is a good thing; the UK has a fraction of the traffic accidents per distance driven and per capita as the US), and I would have to acquaint myself with driving with the steering wheel on the right, as well as learn to drive manual transmission.

JoelR wrote:That must severely limit where you can travel, even for basic small trips like the bank or grocery store.

A medium grocery store is a 5 minute walk away, and a larger one is a 10 minute walk. There are two banks in my town (15,000 population) centre, also a 5 minute walk, plus a Post Office branch that does banking services (its own as well as for several major banks including one I bank with). I live a 3 minute walk from a train station which has trains to Scotland’s two major cities every half hour (Glasgow) and hour (Edinburgh), connecting me to a train network with 352 stations in Scotland alone and over 2,000 more throughout Great Britain. Scotland also has an extensive bus network in which more than 95% of the population is within a 5 minute walk of a bus stop, even in the pretty remote Highlands and Islands.

It’s only really for these Sunday walks (when the trains don’t run early enough) in the hills that I miss having a car and driving.

I've always had an interest in getting into the Kingdom Hearts games because I lke JRPGs (even if I suck at them but I suck at any game genre so bugger it) and I love Disney more than words can describe.

But I never got round to it.

And then I just found a bundle on the PS4 digital store that contains like every Kingdom Hearts game on sale for £27 down from like £90.

Greg made a delicious dinner, and my night was spent play testing and fixing encountered bugs in the game. Work continues tomorrow but I enjoy my ends meet job. :)

Wow, sounds like you've come a long way since I was this way last Nandi!

:facepalm2: I thought youd had some incredible work phase and were nearing completion!

But 25% is damn good considering the scale of the project and the time you have to invest. Just be sure to let me know when you start to near completion. I wanna play it! :D

What have you got finished at this point,.I remember you were working on the shop and inventory systems before? Is that right?

Yup, that was awhile ago. I’m about to start on the eleventh city-state and I have nine dungeons completed.

I’m hoping to get a nice two days off full of game play testing and relaxing with my husband. Dinner was good too, as the spaghetti was very meaty and cheesy. :3

It is against the law to bring alcohol into a betting shop. But sometimes punters are sneaky and we don't spot it right away.

Today someone at some point had brought a brand new sealed bottle of lager into the shop and left without it. A regular customer found it and handed it over. Whoever left it can't exactly come back for it because they broke the law by bringing it in to begin with and we can't do anything with it.

So I just scored myself a bottle of free booze.

Coronavirus has made my hands super soft and nice. I’ll admit it, I’ve never been one for washing my hands after I pee. I always preferred just avoiding having a penis so dirty that to touch it is to need to wash your hands. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I was a pretty quick study. I mastered peeing and not getting it on my hands decades ago. Plus, I’ve always felt like the door I have to touch to get out of the bathroom is usually way dirtier than my penis and there is no sink on the other side of it.

Alas, I digress. As much as it won’t really affect me, and I’ve kinda just accepted that I’m gonna get sick this year, covid19 is gonna kill people and it is a source of genuine concern to people not as lucky as me. So I abide by the infection control advice and I wash my hands frequently through the day as if preparing to take out someone’s appendix. I go all in. I roll my sleeves up, I take my watch off, more often than not there’s moisturiser or hand cream. I spend orders of magnitude more time cleaning my hands than I do peeing.

I’m actually growing to quite enjoy these meditative little self care moments in the day, just taking a couple of minutes in the hour to switch off from everything else. I’m almost worried this is the first small step down a precipitous decline into clinical germophobia. But my hands smell like Indian mulberries, so I think I’m ok with it.

I shamefully admit to having a childhood crush on Roxas.

I... eh... liked the games, is what I'm saying. They're really good! Annoyingly multi platform, though, so only played 1 and 2.

Also, since I'm in a sharing mood, I have another shameful admission. He was only second best. Disney's Robin Hood was the obvious winner. I ain't no furry, honest, but that fox made me feel things, man.

I like real people now, though, thankfully. I hope my story helps others to see that, no matter how weird you think you are, there's always someone weirder. And that person is me.
