I would like to lead into this post with a disclaimer that I do not make a habit of reading The Sun. I have always, and will always, believe it to be shit. However, they do contribute to Apple News and have today presented a story of some significant relevance national pride.

It is weirding me the fuck out that that bathroom has the exact same design and layout as the bathroom of my parents' house.

I just saw something very disrespectful today. Not sure why some people have to be so mean. A bit of kindness doesn't hurt.

I found out that someone has been screenshotting my naked pictures from Grindr and sharing them with other users.
I know I have optionally sent them to this user, but didn’t know they would share them. It’s made me feel sick.

Grindr isn't exactly known for being filled with the most reputable of people, is it?

Have you reported this?

What are good bachelor party ideas for a gay guy who isn’t particularly slutty? I have to help out a straight friend. I was thinking strippers in latex bodysuits since it’s both fun and COVID-conscious but I don’t think he’ll like it. :/

Ramzus: I can admit that I'm horny just about 24/7

Hunter: sometimes I think I was literally born to be a pornstar

So wait, are you helping a straight friend come up with ideas for a bachelor party for straight friend's gay friend with whom you are unacquainted?

Forget about the strippers. Can it be a normal thing like laser tag or an escape room?

(Not that I've ever done either of those, but I've heard from predominantly guys that they are fun activities. :D)

They blocked me and now I can’t find them, even set up a fake profile to try find them.
I’ve emailed Grindr, but I’m very realistic and I know that nothing will come of it.
I’ve got a nice dick, muscular ass and a good body so I’m over it, I never send a nude with my face in it.

Without putting everyone in the same box, the LGBTQ+ community is a horrible, toxic place. I often feel like a traitor to my own kind. I optionally have no gay friends and keep away from gay bars etc.

That does sound rather like putting everyone in the same box. :P

Aside from family, I basically only have gay/bi friends, and they're not horrible or toxic.

Most LGBTQ+ people (I do so despise that grouping), or gay men even, are not regular users of Grindr or visitors of gay bars. The ones who are are hardly a representative sample. Most just blend in, and you wouldn't know they were gay unless they told you.

I have seen polls and survey results on Reddit indicating a vast majority are Grindr or other 'dating' app users.

Jumping from one unrepresentative sample to another, I see. :P

As far as I can gather, Grindr has some 4 million daily active users and 6 million monthly, worldwide.

An estimated 19 million Americans (8.2%) have engaged in same-sex sexual behavior and 25-26 million Americans (11%) acknowledge at least some same-sex sexual attraction. Granted, not all of these are men and not all "identify as" gay or bi even though perhaps they rightly should. But Grindr is used all over the world. There is absolutely no way the majority of LGBTQ+ people or of gay men are daily or even monthly users of Grindr (thankfully).

I’m sure some people on Grindr don’t want to be, but they feel like it’s their only option. Others probably wish they could use Grindr but they are too afraid. As far as we have come over the last decade, we still have a long way to go to be free to live the way we want.

Haha, I had to look that one up, but I gather this "dated", "humourous" reference concerns "a woman who has many casual sexual encounters or relationships". I'm sure you are well aware that I was never what could be even remotely described as a regular Grindr user, nor have I ever had sex with anyone I didn't have feelings for and wasn't pursuing a romantic relationship with (and even then, the grand total stands at 2). And then of course there's the "wo" bit. :P

I've never actually used Grindr. Or Tinder, or any of that kind of dating app. I tend to rationalise this by sounding off about how their popularity exemplifies an alienated society reveling in ephemera and blah blah blah... but the honest truth of the matter is that I just can't face being so starkly confronted with the evidence that I'm just not that desirable. Besides, I typically love reveling in ephemera. Guess I'm just too self conscious and won't admit it. :P

Truly the most sordid dens of utmost corruption and fornication. Their much heralded demise cannot come swiftly enough. My pearls, they are clutched indeed.

I'm kidding. Get ye to the gay bars. They are the best.
