Cases are really spiking in the UK. A real second wave.

It's being blamed on young people having house parties, but I think it very clearly correlates with children going back to school.

Wow it's going to be so fun being locked up indoors for months again when the second lockdown gets announced...

Second lockdown? In the parts of the UK maybe, I bet Boris and the cabinet will do everything they can to prevent a second lockdown.
I suspect that Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland might go into full lockdown, while England goes into a more targeted one, to try to keep the economy afloat.

Just my guess.

They really should just not have opened the schools. I still don't understand why for instance in Scotland children under 11 are exempt from the (Scottish version of the) 'Rule of 6' and from the 2m social distance guidance. It seems plausible that children could be spreading the virus like wildfire without getting any symptoms whatsoever themselves.

It's not often that I find myself wistfully thinking "damn I wish I lived in Scotland" but.... yeah. Recently? Yeah.

Seattle on a clear day

Seattle lately with smoke from massive wildfires

I live 125 kilometers away, and the smoke is almost as bad here. :shake:

Apparently Trump is visiting NorCal because of the fires, which is perplexing. I guess he just wanted a better view of the situation to reassure himself that west coast liberals are to blame for not clearing enough dead trees.

Like when he visited Puerto Rico so he could oversee and coordinate the distribution of paper towels.

Without his football throw, Puerto Rico may still be wet to this day.

Bounty paper towels really soak up everything.

If they soaked up stupid, Trump wouldn't have made it out of Puerto Rico.

I'm back in one of my "I really want a boyfriend" moods so the next few days are going to be a fun little moping session until I get over it again.

The cycle is growing bothersome now.

I always seem to either under-share or over-share, and I think I upset somebody today. I don’t really understand myself sometimes. I’m so bad at deciding when to be an open book and when to keep things quiet.
