Arguing with a very small and very angry old Chinese man who'd just lost £2000 playing virtual roulette and couldn't seem to comprehend that regardless of how much he'd lost it was time to leave because I needed to close the shop.

There are 3 fucking massive flying bugs just loitering around outside my bedroom window and living room balcony. Which is incredibly unsettling for me given my severe aversion to flying insects even of normal size let alone these fat pricks. They're just not going away and as such I can no longer have my bedroom window open for fear of any of them getting inside which means my bedroom is currently quite hot and very stuffy.

The fist-sized moths want in, though!

What puts a frown on my face today is everything. I’m in a terrible mood and have been for two days now.

Was all set to have a "friend" of mine round my place this afternoon to end both of our respective lockdown-related dry spells but then my bastard brother just randomly had a day off so that plan had to be scrapped.

The dry spell continues. :madred:

I feel your pain, I went to hospital about mine last week and was informed that there is little to nothing that can be done which was a kick in the teeth especially when my condition has worsened in this last year.

What put a frown on my face today was the cute friendly 19 year old girl we have at the front desk at work who was literally in tears during her lunch break due to life stresses and getting dumped by someone she thought she might marry.
She was still trying to be happy and smiling for customers with red puffy eyes after.
She also has become a very closed and distrustful person so despite offers to listen or help in some way she always just politely declines and says she is ok. We went so far as to call in two of her best girlfriends for backup today as one of my coworkers knew how to contact them.
I hate when someone is hurting and they are too freaking stubborn to let me at least listen to their problems, but I’ve learned from experience all you can do is offer and not push.

I the topic of allergies I totally have that problem. I take one ceterizine hydrochloride (might have misspelled but it’s generic Zyrtec) per day and it really keeps it under control pretty much completely. I still had bad allergy asthma problems though so I use a Flovent inhaler twice a day too and I can breathe fine.

Husband didn’t make the deposit for rent so I have to resort to ‘plan B’ to fix this. It will be fixed, but it inconveniences me greatly. :pfft:

Does 'plan B' involve giving your landlord fellatio?

No, it’s a lot less porn-hubby and requires more online money transfers. :P

Woke up 2 hours ago. Can’t get back to sleep.

I think I am being deliberately stalled for a promotion opportunity because someone doesn’t want to lose me.

(I don’t think those two things are related.)

Working in a betting shop during a major international football tournament is fucking annoying, and I've finally figured out why.

It's not because it makes the job itself more difficult. It objectively doesn't, at all.

It's because of the overwhelming sense of unrelenting social pressure to support England.

I mean I like football. I do. When the Premier League is on I get really into it. But I do that because I chose to. It was my choice to get involved, I picked what team I support and I did that because I actively wanted to. It wasn't because I was pressured to or expected to. But then the Euros or World Cup roll around and every single person in my life feels like they're just kind of strong-arming me to support England in the contest purely because I come from there. Like enforced patriotism through sport and I hate that aspect of this whole passtime.

And I just inherently reject the premise that I have to support a country's football team just because I come from that country. I don't support my actual local football team just because I happen to be from the same place they are.

I'm just very tired of having to pretend I massively want England to win the Euros when objectively I don't give a single solitary fuck if they do or they don't.

We have that problem in the USA literally x50 for every sport that has state level teams.

What put a frown on my face today is feeling like fixes to my life that we’re finally getting going are stalled and my weekend is probably going to be totally wasted as well.

Air conditioning at work completely broke this morning. No time estimate on when it'll be replaced. Fucking horror.
