Nothing wrong with that! Happy birthday :keke:

I'm apparently turning 33 in 2 months and I'm happier than ever :D

And I'll be packing to visit my boyfriend for his 38th birthday and I'm pretty sure he's happier than ever too.

I just find it weird that I'm 30 and actually objectively doing kind of well right now, considering I still remember being an incredibly depressed teenager and honestly never thinking I'd make it to this age at all.

Well, this has taken a turn for the positive! I love it! Way to go

I started worrying that I was doing something wrong in not killing myself given that I'm unable to function in society. I wondered if, perhaps, in allowing myself to continue living I was willingly being a burden to others and, hence, doing something wrong. I then felt guilty and wanted to cry. It wasn't fun, to say the least. And unfortunately, the guilt and sadness are lingering a bit.

The new guy at work ghosted us. Either way he didn’t show up yesterday, which is weird because he worked pretty well and had a good attitude.

Perhaps he found me so hot that he couldn’t concentrate and knew it would be a problem.

You would do something wrong in harming any creature.

That must be it! Very wise to remove himself from the situation before anything inappropriate happens. :D

Work stuff. Family stuff. Covid stuff. Life stuff. No use posting all the negative details. Would be nice to having something more upbeat to say.

I keep mucking up really basic German on Duolingo. It'll play a sentence and tell me to write it in German... and I keep accidentally writing what the English translation would be.

Annoying, but at least it shows I can instinctively translate it already I guess.

Did you really think an indecisive bitch like me was ever going to stick to anything?

There's every possibility I will end up on Dutch but right now I'm just doing with German what I did with Russian a while back: Seeing how far into this I can get before it starts completely going over my head. Basically seeing how much of my secondary school German education is still actually hanging around in my brain after 17 years of complete disuse. Turns out quite a lot of the basics were still in there.

Have you considered Scottish Gaelic?

Yes. That’s what he needs; more avenues of indecision.

I have not. Because I can say with 100% certainty I will never under any circumstance need that. According to Wikipedia only 1.1% of people in Scotland actually speak Scottish Gaelic.

Marmaduke wrote:Yes. That’s what he needs; more avenues of indecision.

See, this man gets me. I need less choices and will use whatever petty justifications I have to rule against something. Like I decided I'm not going to learn Russian, despite fucking loving how it sounds, honestly primarily because the Duolingo "write this in [language]" task, which I prefer to use keyboard input to do, is basically impossible without some kind of specialist keyboard designed for their alphabet.

See also: Probably ruling out ever doing Polish because of the complicated spelling of words.

Do not learn Gaelic. Unless you have a strong, and I mean strong, academic interest in the social history of Scottish crofting communities in the period 1750-1880.

Do you? Have an academic interest in the social history of Scottish crofting communities in the period 1750-1880, I mean? Have at it, if so.

I'll fully admit to being a nerd with obtuse as fuck interests sometimes but even this is just a touch beyond me.

Poor Simone Biles. She was so hyped up and now she’s out.

I lost my second day off work to go do my least favourite thing at work, despite the thing I enjoy doing being really backed up and someone needing to do it.

The laundry machines are broken at the apartment building so I have to get the laundry done at the laundromat and spend extra time doing laundry.
