eBay has decided what I desperately need in my life right now is... golf essentials. So I can "show off my swing on the green".

my dad is cheating on my stepmom with another chick. My stepmom and dad are getting a divorce. I found this out by my sister. No one tells me shit besides her. My dad hit an all time low. I feel bad for my stepmom.

All the snow my hometown has been getting lately. We need it, but not all at once. And there's more on the way!

I’m working from 1-11 today, but I did agree to this so let’s just get this over with.

The baby rolled off the couch and I couldn’t catch her in time. She has a nasty bruise on her head. I feel bad… :(

My best friend lost all rights to her son. She tested positive for Meth. Not sure what to think.

If she is on meth, it's probably for the best for her son.

I should imagine it is hard reconcile your feelings here Erti. On the one hand, you most likely want to support your friend, to reassure her and help her come to terms with what has happened. While on the other hand, I should imagine you probably recognise that if she is using meth, she isn't going to be able to properly care for her son and her son, is likely better off someplace else for now.

That can make it really hard to comfort and reassure someone, who likely just wants to hear it isn't her fault, (which it is and it isn't) and that she should have her child back. Drug addiction can rob people of agency, yet she is the only one who can chose to stop taking drugs and if custody of her son isn't motivation enough that... it's hard to know how to feel about that.

I think that's why drug addiction can be so very tragic. Ultimately, blame doesn't help and there is so little that actually does.

I'm sorry to hear such sad news.

Aww. Fortunately babies are pretty resilient. Just try to stay closer and avoid her getting near the edge in future I guess.

Yes the baby is alright. She has a bruise on her forehead but nothing serious… as for my friend with the drugs in her system, I am not mad. More so concerned and disappointed. Her son will be sent to his dad. Granted he’s a good father but he’s a douche towards me. Made fun of my mental illness and said I was weird and crazy. I may not get to see the kiddo.

That does suck, as you too lose out on seeing a little someone you got used to seeing very often.

He’s my nephew basically. Love the kiddo. Feel bad for him.

All you can do is be there and ready for him, should he eventually come around looking.

The faucet for the shower is broken and is constantly flowing with warm water. The super does know about it but it probably won’t be fixed until Monday.

It sounds like someone is taking a constant shower. Boy are we glad water is included in the rent.

Is the heating of the water also included?

I've been in denial of my hairline receding for years and today I finally bit the bullet and got a prescription for finasteride. My concern grew once I realized taking creatine is known to increase the pace of male pattern baldness, and I've been taking 10mg a day since I started working out. I'll know in two years if it has stopped or improved the situation.

I now anticipate René telling me all the reasons why taking finasteride will kill me.

I use finasteride. But topically. 3% minoxidil + 0.1% finasteride, in spray combination form, very convenient. Comes from India. Two little sprays once a day. Should have less side effects this way as it's targeted.

Finasteride won't kill you, but I've had enough problems with low libido in the past to not want to risk that, so I always rejected the possibility until I found out about the topical form.

I also take oral minoxidil for good measure. Supposed to be much more effective than topical. So ironically the reverse of the usual oral finasteride and topical minoxidil. (Apparently minoxidil needs to be converted into something else to work, and people vary in how much of the necessary enzyme they have in their scalp. Bypassing the skin means much greater concentrations can be reached, plus it has more effect elsewhere on the body :D)

10 mg creatine a day is nothing. The typical dose is 5 g a day!
