What put a frown on your face today?
Re: What put a frown on your face today?
I arrived in the UK for the first time in nearly six years and the banknotes are weird and plasticky now and it's really throwing me.

Did you leave before or after they changed the pound coin? The new bimetallic design feels so hollow compared to the old design, which had a nice heftiness in the hand.

We’re super cash free these days, especially in London, so feel free to give me all the notes that are disconcerting you and switch to contactless.

Before. It did have a nice heft before.
Someone tell me something the UK's done right in the last decade.

Work sucks balls. We’re up to our eyeballs in hyperactive children. I’m feeling a bit anxious about all the people running around and making messes. I’m trying to get my work done but it’s been difficult.
I also have searing ankle pain so I’m appropriately grouchy.

So, we have until June 11 to find a new place. Apartment people want to renovate our apartment and said they'd give us a newly renovated one. But then we got an email saying we have to leave by June 11 and don't want to renew our lease.

Oh Christ that’s awful. I’m sorry.

The price of organic salted butter has gone up by 21% at Tesco.
That's like £20-25 a year for us!

Seems like you’re left with little other choice than investing in a butter churner and a pair of paddles.

But where would I get organic cream for a reasonable price?

I have sinusitis though that’s much better now, I had a very poor sleep last night, and also last night I stared into an abyss of sorts.
Oh and I also missed my medication yesterday so there’s that. It hasn’t been a great mental health day.

Given up switching back to days this week. Gonna try to ride out the rest of the week until I can speak to a doctor on Saturday. Fingers crossed they can help

Thought for a minute; first thing that came to mind was introducing a railcard for ages 26-30 (costs £30 and gives about ⅓ off most rail fares for a year).

Consistently still hate having consultation and assessment meetings with people regarding my therapy situation because I always turn into a fucking nervous wreck beforehand and it fucking sucks.

I just had to supply info to a bank over the phone which some of it wasn’t readily available and by the end of the incident I was so anxious I was shaking. I had to do this as I am a co-user of the account.

Being quasi-agoraphobic and being left a terrified, overwhelmed, anxious wreck after doing something as simple as going to the store and being accosted by a homeless person.

I got awakened by a phone call today. The man on the other end asked “You up to date? Bitch.” and hung up. Huh?
