What put a frown on your face today?

I mean, I'm crap at small talk. Don't reach out much or talk about my day, sure. Probably on the autistic spectrum alongside the anxiety / low mood I often feel. I mean I try my best but the odds aren't good.
I need to broom this person like he's broomed me, but I can't bring myself to do it. But seriously I've never encountered such a **** before. He does it in such a way as to always make me feel like the problem. It's mental torture.

That's why you should just never leave your house! And simply read way too much all year round!

I know. I'm just not used to this. Hate letting it go, feels like I'm letting him win. I know that's what he wants, for me to fade away. It's stupid and stubborn I know.
Like look obviously it's fine people are gonna do what they're gonna do. But I'm so sick of the games people play.
Honestly I can't deal with it. Things that seem fun to others just piss me off, honestly. I can see myself becoming bitter, fast. I always empathised with Disney villains as a kid and I do even more so now

The way the world is can break a person.

Thank you for the responses

The other day I watched a superb rendition of Tchaikovsky's Iolanta and now I can't find it anywhere online.

I find it really cringeworthy when people clap like mindless seals at opposite sides in a moral debate who display any amount of cordiality. Like, yeah it’s better to get points across than not but that’s only a tactical consideration, not some moral necessity in itself. No one (rightfully) would applaud a killer and a non-killer having a conversation about the morality of homicide simply because they decided to talk instead of yell at each other. Like, if someone is committing an atrocity, it’s not unreasonable to have strong emotional reactions.

My jack-off apartment complex won't flip the switch that turns on water for the pump inside the cooling unit, so every evening my apartment bakes to over 90 degrees. It's so hot my computer overheats, my bread spoils, and I have to stay up until around 2:00am when it cools down enough for me to fall asleep. Right now I'm just laying naked on top of the covers with my fan on high, sweating like a grease pig.

I don't necessarily agree with you on your last sentence. Maybe read more of the Cynic and Stoic philosophers?

Looping back to older lessons on Duolingo and realising that despite getting multiple levels in it, I have remembered fucking none of it and need to look it all up again.
I swear every time I feel like I'm making progress something like this happens and it knocks my confidence down to fuck all again. It's such a pain, why the fuck am I doing this to myself.

As far as I'm aware, there's not much evidence to suggest that "gamified" language learning apps are particularly effective. They're usually free, but also supplementary at best, I'd say. Standard wrote learning and immersion through language classes is probably faster!
What language are you learning?

Russian.
Yeah, don't ask. I don't truly know why either.

Have you given thought to immersive learning by way of exclusively pursuing Russian felatees?

All you need to do is practice shrugging and saying "такова жизнь" with as deep a sense of resignation as you can muster. With this, you'll have achieved enough Russian to get by in most casual conversations.

Have you been pressing the Practice button at all? I think that automatically periodically brings up stuff from earlier lessons so you can hold on to it more easily

On the bright side, it'll probably come back more quickly than the first time you learned it!

Sometimes. A lot of days one of the older skills I've got to max level will need to be restored so that's usually how I keep going back to them. But sometimes I'll do that and just... none of it will make sense to me. Like I know I've done it, cause I got it to fucking legendary level. So I must have known it. But it comes back to restoring it and it's like looking at fresh gibberish all over again.

Re: What put a frown on your face today?
After gathering about 300 dollars in groceries I found out no one would will be ringing them up because the cashier isles close at 10 and only self checkout was available.
Since when!? and fuck that!
I put everything back where it was supposed to be and put my cart away and left. At least I didn’t miss the last bus home.
I’m so upset and full of anxiety that I can’t even think straight but I didn’t take it out on anyone. I guess I should be grateful that I didn’t embarrass myself.

Why didn't you just use the self-checkout?

Because I had 300 dollars in groceries. Don’t say that they’re supposed to be used for checkouts like that because you know they’re not.

It would still take less time to use it anyway than it would to put everything back.
