What put a frown on your face today?

Talk about anything and everything.

No, I enjoy it. It’s just been stressful lately. :)

Fair enough, but what about your pain? Have you considered seeing a physician?

No because I know it’s just because I have been working too hard, and I’m off the next two days.

Work tried to call me in on this day off because the monday guy didn't show up. I told them no because my back is worse today than yesterday, all due to overexertion from, heh, working.

I'm definitely considering going to the doctor as McTaggartfan suggested to me yesterday, especially if resting today doesn't help it. If worse comes to worst I will be going to the doctor and getting official documentation that I'm not fit to work until it gets better. :(

Apparently sleep isn't going to be in the cards for me tonight/this morning. My anxiety-riddled brain has decided now is a splendid time to worry about everything college-related. I've just been in bed for the past five hours doing almost nothing save worrying, worrying, and more worrying. I suppose it's a good thing I've therapy later today.

I’m going to the doctor in about 20 minutes because when I woke up this morning I was barely able to dress myself and go to the bathroom. What the hell did I do to my back?!

Oh no, hopefully nothing terrible! I'm glad, though, that you're finally going to the doctor about it.

We have gone to the doctor and I am now off until July 3rd and medicated. We also have documentation in regards to it. It still blows though, because I can’t do anything. :facepalm2:

I'm just gratified to hear you've been looked at by a physician, and certainly I'm glad to know you're okay. Consider it, if you can, a break from doing anything much and especially anything particularly strenuous. Hopefully the medication at least eases the pain aspect.

No matter how well things go, it's so easy to focus on the negatives. All the times people have turned me down, ignored me or wanted something from me too much. All the people whove disappeared. Those defeats never seem to get better with time.

It is easy to focus on negatives. You gotta make a conscious choice not too.

It does help if you can build happy memories to replace those that cause you upset, which is hard these days, I know.

Hope you feel better soon

I'm just feeling a fair amount of pain and hopelessness today. I'm tired of it, of course, but so little brings me joy anyway, even on days I'm feeling more normal, more euthymic; I guess there's not much to look forward to, or to realistically desire in life. I feel like such a burden on everyone, though I admit it's probably best I try not to think about it. Anyway, yeah, today it seems to me more than usual that my life is practically just a lengthy, drawn out period of waiting to die. While I'm not suicidal or anything, that obviously doesn't mean I'm not in pain; some days it's simply harder and more wearying to manage it, to pretend I'm okay.

Sorry for always seeming to go on about these things. I honestly don't talk about it all very much outside the forum, and I tend to try to mask it, because I don't want to be a burden on people; but it's also difficult to live so much in one's head, as I do, and to withhold so much, so often. I do feel guilty about it, especially for rambling about it.

I discovered that FinDom exists. It’s a kind of fetish where a submissive sends money or gifts to a dominant person in exchange for…apparently nothing. What kind of scam is this?

It seems to literally prey on people’s low self esteem.

How so? Also, I mean, is it something people actually find rewarding or appealing? Is it something they genuinely fantasize about on some level? I mean, I don't really understand why anyone would if there's literally nothing to this other than giving money to someone else. But if they do, I suppose I wouldn't consider it a true scam; since both parties understand what's going on (or the lack of any goings on lol), and because of the fact that the sub receives some form of satisfaction or other in giving away their money in that fashion—even if I, personally, don't get how it could amount to any kind of dom-sub thing. Yet, admittedly, all of this is perhaps a tad out of my wheelhouse, so my thoughts on it are probably a bit pointless.

I was going to say that if they want to give their money and gifts away to people who will treat them like garbage maybe they should donate to me, but I can’t treat people who are nice to me like garbage. So few people are nice to me. :P

More people should be nice to you, of course. I don't see why not, since you seem perfectly likable to me.

But I'd also say we shouldn't treat anyone like garbage; we're all human and that means we're possessed of a great amount of value, regardless of anything else about us.

This inane article, which insists on bashing the British Empire. O how easy it is to pick on the fallen, the downtrodden of history! Yeah, I don't know why, but of all the periods, nations, governments, etc., of history, it is the British Empire which shall forever hold a special place in my heart. And fools are they who would speak ill of it in my presence!!! :argh:

My mother messaged me this morning. I reacted terribly and it didn't help with my mood problem right now, which is one of my tottering on the edge of a depressive episode. I shouldn't ruminate on it a lot, since that won't do anything for me to improve things. But suffice it to say I don't get along with my mother and just hearing from her can ruin my day, if not a significant portion of my week. Not just that, however, but she also refuses to stop messaging me, and even one time send baby photos of me to my therapist (there was no context for that; she just did it out of the blue). It's so frustrating and distressing. It's like I can't have any life apart from her, and it makes it difficult to move on from stuff from my childhood and adolescence, and it only ends up bringing up old memories.
