What's being radiographed?

I have a tumour that I need to make sure isn’t cancer before I have it removed, so I had to go for an MRI this morning. The odds are 80% in my favour, so it should be fine.

Oh my. Sounds like good odds, though; best of luck for the results!

Oh man... Good luck Joe  keep us updated.

One of my classmates at school had one in his back that was removed and one of my teachers had one in his ear. They both turned out fine.

Thanks guys, but I’m pretty confident it’ll be ok. It’s all linked into a pre-existing condition, we’re just ticking all the boxes because it’s a rare condition. Latest research offers us the statistically significant result of a chance between 2 and 20 percent of it being cancer. If I’d done research and my best answer was “it’s either 2 or 20, or somewhere in between” I probably wouldn’t rush to publish it. :p

My best wishes too Marmaduke!

I don't think I saw anyone looking good in their hospital gowns in my recent visit, but honestly, I liked the view afforded by your mean radiographers snark clothing options.

Made the mistake of reading the comments on this one. I'm amazed at the political shift that has occurred in the last few years. It feels like something from fifteen years ago.

It’s the association of these groups (blacks, women, gays, etc.) with the left and how the left is currently perceived as suffocating them with identity politics and supposed PC policing. This is bad news for Shawn Mendes. :shake:

I skimmed an article yesterday about how the right in Poland is pushing back hard against LGBT acceptance calling it an ideology and such. :(

He’s been trying very hard to squash the gay rumors by pulling a GOP Senator maneuver and getting himself a beard. It’s awkward and cringey but like a car crash I can’t look away.

Dystonia sucks. I take my meds and get dystonia from it. I get severe anxiety and stiffness in the neck and it’s hard to breathe. It sucks. I took an extra cogentin and it’s finally stopped after almost 2 hours. It makes me scared to take my meds now with the cogentin because I can only take so many cogentin. I’m feeling better now though so no trips to the er.

I've got to go to a wedding party tomorrow evening because my brother took it upon himself to tell his friends that I would go, but I'm an introvert who doesn't like going to social events.

One of my childhood dogs had a stroke earlier this week and is going to need to be put to sleep.

I was hoping we’d get to see him one more time when we visit in November. :sadblue:

From the comments I read the sentiment seems to be one of "don't ask, don't tell" policy, and then it's fine. In other words, it's ok to be gay as long as you stay in a closet. That's my take on the commentary that I seen at least up to the point I stopped reading which wasn't far into it.

Funny how a straight couple can do a simple kiss (peck on the cheek) but god forbid if a gay couple do that anywhere but in a "gay setting" like a gay bar. Oh the other "shoving it in peoples faces" that typically gets point out is TV/Movies. Because their happens to be a gay actor in a sitcom that's "shoving it in peoples faces" by their definition.

Put people down and they tend to want to resist in any way they can. I know my opinion of said people. Said people need to be made to feel uncomfortable in their homophobia.

I agree with you, and this is where I think I depart from many other gays. Pride is excessive and sometimes alienating, and that's good, because these people are hogs and they should be alienated. There's no universe where you can get past their lizard-like levels of empathy and convince them pride, rights, and visibility are important things that matter to people who grew up hating themselves. A better approach is to let them make it their cultural hill to die on and then watch them die.

I'm moving out of my parents' house and into a flat across town with my brother. Ideally this is gonna be happening before the end of the month; all my stuff is being moved on Wednesday but I can't join it just yet cause of administrative nonsense.

What's making me frown is that because nothing can ever get a normal reaction out of me, I'm currently worrying myself sick over how not worried I am.

Like, I'm leaving home and will have to fend for myself as an adult. I should be absolutely shitting bricks in terror of this, but all I feel about the actual process is a weird sense of calm and confidence.

I'm not used to that, so the irrational part of my idiot brain uses that as an excuse to massively freak out.

I wonder if it's like motocross for me. I get nervous as hell right before I go to ride. But once I'm on the track running at speed that all goes away and I'm irrationally calm about it all including banging handle bars as necessary.

I'm sorry to hear that :(

Since you knew him in childhood I'm going to assume he was pretty old. I know you're atheist so I'm not going to say "he's waiting for you in the rainbow bridge in the sky" but know that he'll no longer be in pain and will be at peace knowing that he is loved.
