Oh no... Your father would be feeling extra lonely. Such a huge loss to deal with, and on an unfortunate day.

You're right. He's taking it pretty bad. Drinking way too much. I got him some prescription THC chewables (like edibles but sort of like vitamins).

Especially since there was a chance he could have been rehabilitated and he was supposed to see a pulmonary specialist the day he died but since they pulled life support he didn't. Quietly, some in my family think they should have waited for the specialist to give his/her opinion. Obviously, it was his choice but he was heavily medicated and his close family members most likely didn't reiterate he hadn't seen a specialist yet because WHY WOULD HE NOT WANT THEIR OPINION?? Those family members were talking about pulling his life support a week before he died...and he did not have life insurance because of a heart condition. So no nefarious monetary motive. Maybe a motive of being lazy and not wanting to deal with his rehab but not money.

The whole thing is tragic. He was only 68 which isn't young but not that old. He was also in great shape and looked 55 max.

I remember the moment my mother told me "I'm done, I want to go". I could have chose to respond negativity but rather I chose to respect her and her wishes. She passed 4 months later - she always was a determined person. Sometimes you need to respect the wishes of others even when it's going to hurt you.

I'm starting uni from Year 1 next month, aged 22, AND I'M GOING TO BE LIVING AND STUDYING MOSTLY WITH 18 YEAR OLDS.

They're going to look at me like an old drying fossil.

And that is awesome. You’re living the dream! I had no idea you took a four-year gap. Have you been going from rager to sex party all this time?

I didn't take a four year gap, I dropped out, went to uni, changed course, dropped out, and have been travelling in between all of this. Suddenly its four years since I left school. It's all a bit of a mess!

I've been going between Thailand and India the last seven months or so. I'm in Delhi atm, not much sex party happening here x

Sometimes dropping out is the best choice. I wish I had had the balls. I made some good friends in college, but that's an expensive way to make friends. Better than sex-for-pay, I guess. Take the helm and hang on with both hands!
