Every Briton over the age of 40 looks like Winston Churchill in a different stage of cirrhosis.

So sorry to hear that!

I lost my dad to it a year and a half ago.

Thanks and today was hard as I'm really starting to realize he's gone.

One day, yes. Find a Spanish twink if you don't want them to age like a Halloween pumpkin.

Union is raging. Company still sending out workers to sites. It's simply impossible to hold to distancing rules whilst travelling to and from site, during breaks, and whilst working on a construction site.

I hope they'll issue a recall by tomorrow. Otherwise, Union is essentially saying there's legal protection for anyone who refuses to work in unsafe conditions.

Decided, isolated though I am, that I would do some cooking today. Identified a need for tinned tomatoes. Decided that my symptoms have all but cleared up, I'll pop to the supermarket.

In my local area, there are three braches of Sainsburys, a Morissons, an M&S food hall, an Aldi. I checked them all, and also every smaller independent shop in the postcode. No tinned tomatoes of any sort availalble, I'd have almost settled for the inferior chopped option.

But I had nothing better to do with my time alone, and am quite bored by this point and quite stubborn by nature. So began what would turn out to be a 4 hour quest for tinned tomatoes. Three branches of Tesco, a further Sainsburys, a Waitrose and an Asda later and finally I succeeded. I bought 4 cans for £1.60, nothing else and went home with a final travel bill somewhere just over £20.

Really did have to remind myself to be consderate too. There was one full pallet of 32 cans left and that was it and I was very tempted to buy them all. Had to remind myself I had nowhere to keep 32 cans of tomatoes.

I always have at least 4 tins of tomato product (whole or chopped) in the cupboard, and several jars of passata. With Brexit, I upped it to 8.

Yeah, I normally have four tins of good whole plum tomatoes on hand. But I do get through them fairly regularly. I don't really tend to use much passata. The few things I make that had it in the recipe, I always make do with tinned tomatoes and just cook them down with other flavours and pulse them.

I have one tomato left. This must be made to go far. What do?

Fruit is running low, too. I fear scurvy. Just moved so I've not developed a store. Send help.

I can post you two bananas, but they're already on the turn. It depends how much you feel like making banana bread.

I made everything into a mass of soup for freezing. Could add the bananas to that. Now is a time for culinary experimentation.

Yeah, send em over. :P

There are empty rows in this carriage yet this strange little woman waddled up and sat down next to me at a table, expecting me and René to move our stuff over. WTF? It’s a complete faux pas in this socially distanced time!

It's a faux pas at any time to not purposely choose to sit literally as far away as you can from anyone else on public transport.

The number of Canadian infected has really hiked up in the past few days. I wonder if the virus will make its way into me as I still work presently.

Has it really, or has there just been more testing, identifying people who already had it anyway?
