Haii. So we're going through the depths of a worldwide quarantine and. I though – I need some online peeps. Seen as though I'm stuck at home and can't see my in-person friends (let's pretend they exist), I need to make some online ones – or at least rant, advise and cry to people in forums online, right?

I've tried to get into forums before but never had a clue that it was online forums I was actually looking for until I came across some the other day. I've lurked and lurked, and I've used online communities before, but I feel like it's time for me to actually participate in one – and this forums seems like the perfect one for mwah. Here's my little intro thing that was suggested I fill out:

name: max
age: 20
orientation: gay
live & from: yorkshire, england
do: marketing manager
religion: who knows. not practicing tho
politics: who knows. practicing tho
interests: Marketing, Photography, Technology, Internet, History, UK Politics, World News
Drinking, drugs or sobriety?: i don't drink or do drugs
special talents: honestly i can and will fall for ANY guy that gives me attention
pet peeves: people eating with their mouth-full. swallow it girl
personal hero: pretty much most members of my family, any person living or dead that has helped pave the way for me to live as an openly gay guy, along with the rest of my community *cry*
fav homo: myself
favourite movie: chitty chitty bang bang, wizard of oz, spongebob squarepants movie, high school musical
tv shows: gilmore girls 100%
music: honestly anything that i'm feeling rn
quote i live by:
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift… that’s why they call it the present." master oogway

welp. that's it. pls someone reply
how are we all during quarantine? i'm still going out to work, we're not quite all the way there yet. but it's still messing up day to day life

Hey Max. Welcome to GFO! There are indeed people here. Not too busy at the moment, but there's peaks and troughs with regards to activity.

I'm personally well, but working from home at the moment. It's a bit strange. Perhaps luckily, I have limited Internet access, so that stops me dicking around online too much when I'm supposed to be working. I'm getting a lot of reading done, though, so that's a plus.

I honest to god still have nightmares about the Childcatcher. :P

Hey Max, welcome to the forum.

Fun fact, I’m an absent-minded whistler. I love a whistle. But I only ever whistle three songs. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, We’re Off To See The Wizard from The Wizard of Oz, and Substitutiary Locomotion from Bedknobs and Broomsticks. So you’re not alone in being fond of a Disney musical made well before either of us was born.

Edit: Actually, that’s a lie. I also hit The Soldiers of The Old Home Guard from Bedknobs and Broomsticks too. And way more often than Substitutiary Locomotion

Nobody would contest that. It’s a vastly underrated tour-de-force.

It’s got it all.
Angela Lansbury - Check
...riding a motorcycle and sidecar - Check Check
A singing cartoon cod - Check
A magical knob - Check
Knights - Check
Nazis - Check
Knights fighting Nazis - Check

What more do people want from a film? Martin Scorsese could do with keeping this list on hand the next time he decides to ham-fistedly try and make a film.

Good – keep well! We have the option to WFH. Not sure what I'll be doing though. I travel about 1hr30mins to work daily so that's a lot of room for exposure. Also makes me feel a little selfish using public transport and possible spreading – even though I'm constantly washing my hands and wear a mask when travelling. Personally I prefer being in the office, and my work are being a little weird about those that choose to WFH too so – I'll see how I feel the night before because ATM I'm stumped.

Listen, forget the child-snatcher. Gimme some Toot Sweets and imma be forever grateful.

Wow love that. Absent-minded whistler. I'm often getting huffs and puffs for humming any classic Disney song – I'm like a walking Disney princess, just a bit more camp

You had me at magical knob.

Thanks for the welcome. Imma have an explore and see what's about. This is a great thing you guys have here, and it's been around so long.

Hey Max, welcome to the forum.

An interesting mix of films which I certainly wouldn't object to although I've somehow never seen any of the High School Musical films despite me growing up at the time when it seemed to be inescapable although I was much more of a Nickelodeon kid

Thank you, lovely. Fun fact: I hosted a High School Musical party in Y3 of school. Lesser fun fact: no boys came, only girls.
Nickelodeon! Drake & Josh, iCarly, Victorious, The Fairly OddParents, Rugrats! A simple time, much so.

Ok, apparently Kelis jokes don't land in 2020. I'll make a note.

Hey Max, welcome to GFO! I hope I'll see you around the forum and you'll enjoy yourself here :awesome:

I used to live in Yorkshire with my husband (first in Brighouse, then in Barnsley). It was nice being right next to the Peak District :3

The lock-down makes little difference for me; in general, it's just a nice excuse to do what I like doing anyway, which is stay at home and chill in my pyjamas
My home gym remains available to me, and I also work from home in my pyjamas anyway (self-employed) in my little home office, so not much difference there either, except my main client (my mom's company) is thinking this is an excellent opportunity for me to catch up on some stuff I'm behind on. How dare she, this is supposed to be like a vacation :pfft:

I'm not from the UK in case you can't tell (born in Holland, married an American).

Oh wow! Small world. I used to live central Huddersfield but now live near Penistone.

Been so busy this week! I could get used to working from home. Not sure how I'm going to feel two weeks from now – perhaps climbing the walls!

Hope you're staying safe and well!

Well, I suppose they’re still friends, but difficult to maintain meaningful friendships with people over 200 miles away. :shake:

Thanks, Brenden and I actually got through the corona with only minor symptoms during a trip abroad. We're probably immune now :)

Still, we'll probably go back and see them sometime, right? Maybe at the same time as my first boyfriend and his parents in Crewe, Cheshire, whom we are somehow (still) in contact with 14 years after that teenage relationship of mine ended.
