Hello everyone :3

Unread postby Revontulet » 25 January 2020, 04:22

Hello / Hola / Hallo / Namaste / Shalom.
Good morning /evening. Hello night owls. ;)

First name: Peter (South Slavic version is Petar)
Nickname(s)?: Pete, Stan, Mulder, and a couple of Slavic ones, but I don't want to bother you with the pronunciation.
Age: 35
Orientation: gay
Where you live: (still) Serbia
Where you're from: the same
What you do (job, schooling, etc.): bachelor of law, freelancer
Dream Job: Digital nomad
Religion (or lack thereof): Eastern Orthodox Christian
Political philosophy: pacifist
Interests and hobbies: painting, digital art, gardening, DIY, architecture, ecology, universe, MMO games.
Drinking, drugs or sobriety?: I don't usually drink. Oh, no drugs honey. Not for me.
Special talents: I can be psychic... or it's just my extremely good intuition.
Pet peeves: annoying children, long lines in supermarkets, idio... I mean: (bad) politicians when they talk and don't walk, dead ladybugs, alive cockroaches, online/in-game elitists, Void Elf haters (World of Warcraft), relatives and close friends who think they can give a "good" piece of advice and solve your problem within one minute with a simple sentence.
Personal hero: Honestly, I'm not sure. Elsa? I wish I can be my own hero.
Favourite real-life homosexual: Um... Gillian Anderson is mostly straight, but the Scully effect made me falling in love with ginger guys (and no, I haven't had any so far, yikes). Otherwise: Neil Patrick Harris, Beth Ditto, John Barrowman.
Favourite movies: The Last Sin Eater, Alien, Identity Thief, Shelter. You can notice the pattern here: no new movies, I'm more into TV shows.
Favourite TV shows: The X-Files, Fringe, How To Get Away With Murder (which has made me angry a bit), Penny Dreadful, Elite, Sense8 (that ending, tho... hmm).
Favourite music: Alternative rock, Indie pop-rock, Electronic rock, Electropop, Electroclash, Ambiental, Minimal, Experimental, Lo-fi, Icelandic music (yeah... I know who are you thinking about, dear Eurovision fans, but not only them), and... something in-between... And that cute and shy Danish singer Asbjørn, as well.
Favourite books: Death Warmed Over: Funeral Food, Rituals, and Customs from Around the World, by Lisa Rogak.
Favourite food: Self-made improvised noodle dishes, usually with chicken.
A quote to live by: "Life is like a lava lamp. Heats up, gets interesting." Alas, beware the small bubbles.

Also, I'm half Vlach, and a bit German. Socially awkward and introvert. I like to bypass my anxiety with humor.
I like mountains and evergreen trees. Lakes and seas.
My favorite animals are foxes.
My own belief is that home is where the feet are, and that there is / will be a special someone whom I can call "Home".

Thanks, Capt._Trips. :)
And why hello to fellow X-Files fan.
Oh wow, a lot of episodes to choose from... What springs first to my mind is The Postmodern Prometheus. The episode is completely different. Then the scary one from S08 with that creepy shaman without legs. What I liked about Mulder and Scully meet the Weremonster is the monster's perspective about humankind. The sixth extinction I and II were intense.
There are two new re-editions with Seasons 10 and 11, both DVD and Blu-ray.
Also, have you played mobile versions: The X-Files: Deep State and Storyscape: The X-Files, Season 1?

Hey! Cool. :D

How experimental are we talking here? From someone who owns Tom Wait's The Black Rider... and likes it. :P

Those episodes were so good. It's always a good time to rewatch them again. :D
Local FOX likes to broadcast first three seasons from time to time.
Storyscape mobile game will shut down in next couple of days. I've just found out. :(

Let's say... Tom Wait is fine. Some of the things Kosheen has done can be classified as experimental. CocoRosie, Grizzly Bear, Metronomy, Grimes...

I first caught it on the sci-fi channel. It played right after the twilight zone which aired at 11:30. ( god i rarely stay up even to that hour now lol) so midnight. This was before the channel became syfy. I think the first episode i seen was a later one but it had something about bees attacking kids at a birthday party.
Im not into science fiction i just think the x files did it very well. Like the series started with Sculley being sent to disprove the x files. And she become as obsessed with it as mulder. I was a Sculley going in but really enjoyed how they made a non sci fi person into there show.

Funny enough when i bought the first season i bought i was watching with my brother. And he said immediately "i dont really like science fiction". I said just watch. And we binged the first 5 seasons. He even called me to say you know there bringing it back right?

Its a science fiction show for people who dont like science fiction

Oh, Metronomy were a new discovery for me. Been listening to Summer '08 for a few weeks. Pretty funky! Plus, it has Robyn doing a collab on it, so I'm all over it, obviously. :P
