Hey it's Prat from India

Unread postby Prat Cann » 22 October 2020, 15:08

My name is Prat, I am 19. Still in closet. Maybe never come out. Preparing to get into medical school. Unfortunately, whomever I have a crush on is always straight. There are so many people you want to engage with affectionately in this male dominated place. There are so many incidents that people will even have sex with you secretly, but will always admit pr say that they are straight and it was just for sex. You end up feeling like being used. And people often blame us for AIDS. Being gay is hard in India and even more hard when you have it as a secret. I am here for support and happiness.

Hey young Mr. Prat, I just wanted to welcome you after I had posted in your other thread.

I had/have the same problems in always being attracted to straight guys and am right now, for some silly reason, once again, despite of being rather old and I should know by now, how to avoid that. The one guy happens to be in the SEK police force, too, I regularly meet him at my sports clique, and thus there's no chance whatsoever

I tried to come out in my late twens, but related to experience of homophobic and other violence, I went back in. Can be made working, too.

Let yourself be encouraged to go for a coming out, some experienced folks on here can help I would strongly guess.
If ya want to hang with me, let's go windsurfing!

I feel for you Prat. Be strong and true to yourself my brother. I don't know about the complexity of your culture and your relationship to it. But be prosperous so you can shape a space for your true authentic self. The path will be long. I hope your society will come to accommodate you. You have love and community here.

hey prat. Honestly same. I never would come out. Mostly for my family. It would kill me if I was thrown out or disowned or if my parents felt like they couldn't talk to or about me anymore. I'm bi and Indian. I wish more people would be accepting in this world.

Welcome, Prat. Being gay is still very difficult in most places around the world. What you describe is very common, which means you are not alone. Hang in there!

Hi Prat,
I’m Indian, Gay and live in England.
My parents are both from India and have been supportive of me coming out.
Times are changing and people must change with the times. I’m aware it must be much harder in India, but stay strong and don’t fall into the trap of being someone’s hook up.
