Hi I'm Simon

Unread postby Szymonnikt » 1 December 2018, 21:24

Hi, I'm Simon. I'm 22 years old student of Biomedical Engineering working in the e-Visa field. I'm interested in programming, drawing and I just love the art of animation in many interpretations. Ones of my favorite animated movies are Persepolis, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and many Pixar and Disney movies. Animated Series like Rick and Morty, BoJack Horseman, Camp Camp, Avatar: The Last Airbender and many more. Yes, I was a dweeb in Secondary School and sometimes return to nostalgic Anime. I'm here mostly because of curiosity (I was on the sites like this at Secondary school). Nice to meet you everybody :glasses:

Aw it's good to hear your grandpa is your personal hero, my nan's a personal hero to me too. She's 80 and she's seen times completely change since the 1930s, I always like asking her about the past whenever I see her :P

Anyways welcome!

My grandpa was a stubborn but loving man. He have taught me to move forward but never turn back to another person. He was always learning and creating until cancer took his physical and mental capabilities. He pass away 21 of November this year. But yes he always will be example of a person who had hope in people and was interested in the world. Thank you for greetings Zoop :) Remember to take care of your nan.

I'm so sorry Simon

He sounds like such an amazing person :)

I will do. Grandparents have a lot more to offer the world than people give them credit for.

Hi and welcome Simon.
I can also roll my tongue! An ocean apart, but that in common!?

As I am older, I have lost all 4 of my grandparents as well as both my parents. But they live on in me, in my heart, in my memories and in my actions.
I am a work in progress. I am so thankful for the opportunity to live my live my own way.

Zoop and Tommiebee: I'm sorry for your lost. The family is important but we often realize it only in hardship.

Tommiebee: You can do it too !!! A small word does it :pfft: :D

BlackBoi666: Zootopia is a really beautiful film. I love the world they crafted, the variety of technology they imaged to make this city work with so many mammals. Good character design and not so bad story. It is cool stuff.
Yeah Netflix and Chill: Marathon of BoJack Horseman will be fun XD (of course I know what it means but marathon will be cool even if there is an ocean between us :D)

Zoop I adore your avatar

I love animation. Unfortunately this year I just don't have much time for my hobbies due to my grandpa condition and my Engineering Thesis. I'm not really good at drawing yet but I want to come back to drawing and animation after I graduate from first cycle studies. Or maybe even earlier

I love that you guys spell it "Alkohol." So cool!

Welcome to the forums! I have a French cousin who graduated in Biomed Engineering and she came to Brazil for a semester as an exchange student. I find it pretty interesting, because we don't have that course here. I heard it's very similar to Production Engineering? How do you like it?

Hi, Eryx.
Alkohol pronunciation probably came from my polish autocorrect.
Biomedical Engineering in my university is the interdepartmental field of study. We have biologic courses like Anatomy, Physiology or Biochemistry etc., same chemists courses about materials, plenty of electronics and mechatronics, mechanics and some IT courses about programming in C++, R, C, LabView etc and programming of the microprocessors.

So really it is a mix of many things.
