Just a fresh intro.

Unread postby ShutUpAndBeHappy » 9 June 2019, 23:06

I was pretty active on GTF and then moved over here when GFO was created. Many people I really like are still here but many are new, so I wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Also, going through my old posts was so damn cringey. I'm really not the same person I was back then, so I felt this intro would also help in that regard.

First name: Trevor
Nickname(s)?:
Age: a couple weeks from 25.
Orientation: gay
Where you live: Colorado, USA
Where you're from: " "
What you do (job, schooling, etc.): I work in higher education as an administrator. Just about done with my master's degree. Hoping to have begun my PhD/EdD before I turn 30.
Dream Job: Dean of Students at a big state school.
Religion (or lack thereof): Atheist. But I appreciate religion and spirituality and enjoy experiencing and learning about different faith traditions and cultures. I was raised Russian Orthodox Christian and I like going to church on Easter most years if I'm in the mood.
Political philosophy: On the liberal side, normally vote Democrat (US). Pro women's rights, pro marijuana legalization, anti death penalty, pro sensible gun control (not abolition).
Interests and hobbies: Grad school. I love spending time with my dog, 8 month old Oliver, the dachshund/chihuahua mix. Love running and biking, and being active.
Drinking, drugs or sobriety?: I drink once in a while - prefer beer. Love cannabis, daily user.
Special talents: Wouldn't you like to know
Pet peeves: When you take a group photo and then they say "now let's take a funny one"
Personal hero: nah
Favourite real-life homosexual: my right hand
Favourite movies: Anchorman, The Heat, SAW series
Favourite TV shows: Buffy, Rick & Morty, Futurama, Frasier if I'm really stoned.
Favourite music: Whatever Spotify suggests
Favourite books: lol nah
Favourite food: your dad's ass
A quote to live by: "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm."

Right now I'm at an interesting place in my life. I've recently got in pretty decent shape, have some nicer clothes and take better care of myself. I'm just dipping my toes in the water when it comes to dating, and I find myself confused and intimidated sometimes, so I really need this community for help with that. Guys actually talk to me now, which is really new, and I'm learning how to handle it. I'm getting ready to move into my own apartment, and I'm pretty much getting ready to "launch" fully into adulthood. One objective for this period is having a more satisfying experience as a gay man.

The GTF/GFO community has been really helpful to me, and I'm looking forward o interacting with all if you interesting newer people. :D

Newer person here... Nice to meet you! I've always wanted to become a teacher myself... however I've been on disability since I was 22 and now I'm 29. Have thought about going back to school for it. Surely it's never too late. Maybe when I'm in my 30's? Glad to see someone working towards their dreams.

Thanks, it's nice to meet you! I've enjoyed our interactions thus far. :)

I am a professor this fall but I actually serve in an administrative roll, meeting with students and helping with degree selection, scheduling, career mapping, that sort of thing. It's a lot of fun!

Hey there Trevor, hope your doing well.

We've interacted a little so I'm happy to see more about you.

Just take your time while moving into the dating scene. There's a huge spectrum in the gay world. From 40 year old virgins to 18 year old sluts. So your behind in any kind of way.

My names Chris btw not Victor. Hope to see more of you around here. :keke:

Now........ Be honest........ Do you really like the WHOLE saw series?

Hahaha, thanks :)... you seem pretty cool yourself.

Ah, sounds like it. My goal was to teach high school math. I would of done art but I suck at English and I'm terrible at writing papers. Also I enjoy and pretty good at math so it all works out. At least I believe math would gear me towards not doing very many papers. lol. That does sound fun. They do say if you do something you love you never work a day in your life.

im new enough that my intro should be on the first page. im also still new to the lgbt community as a whole. even when i thought i was bi i never went to bars or forums. wish i could help you there. i am a great problem solver, however, so i may still be of service. :keke:

Welcome, or hi again, Trevor. It sounds like you are in a very good place in your life. I hope interactions on GFO can help when needed. Being active here can be helpful.
