My introduction

Unread postby Guillaume » 18 June 2020, 03:20

I am 88 years old. I grew up in rural England at a time when the practice of homosexuality was illegal. I still have fond memories of boys who I loved and often wonder if any of them would have responded to advances. I was totally unaware of the illegal gay scenes which then existed in many cities.
During compulsory Military Service my frustrations increased. Although I had some close friendships during those times, I never dared go further than that. I recall the consequences and fate of an NCO found in bed with one of his young charges. The world at that time was stacked against us.
Later, by reason of my employment in government service over which my background was subject to vetting I was again unable to pursue my inclinations. Look but not touch. At age 35 I married and had a family. I realise now that I lived a lie.
Now, I live a lonely life and in the main must content myself with what I can find and see on the Internet. I love the beauty and promise of young men and those who are described as twinks and often wonder if they realise how lucky they are in their unconstrained freedom.
I subscribe to a gay dating application and occasionally visit a club in a nearby city where sometimes I find that kind souls take pity on me and at last, I can be open and joyously homosexual. Too late, but I regret abjectly conforming to the law and norms which existed in my younger days.
