Welcome!

BTW, I lived in Capetown during the 80s - well, technically in a suburb on the peninsula that wasn't part of CT but I understand now it's part of the city. I was an exchange student there.

Not to get into too many spoilers, but I will say the first time I saw this brilliant, bleak film that the ending was tragic. Then I read Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP website — replete with vaginal eggs, $200 smoothies and earthing treatment (aka walking barefoot outside) — and it became more of a feel-good moment. Comedy = tragedy + time?

Good to see a horror fan here. What's your favorite Stephen King book? I'm partial to "Misery" and "The Shining."

The Stand had a very big influence on me when I read it and will always be my favourite. It and Pet Sematary and The Dark Half scared me a lot. The Dark Tower is a close 2nd on my list.
