Newby.

Unread postby outdoorman » 30 June 2021, 23:02

Hello to everyone. I am retired and am finding out that I miss people some what. I love to explore the outdoors and travel but it is not as enjoyable as I thought without sharing the adventure. I would love to find someone or groups with similar interests. I also have some curiosities in my mind that would be awesome to have a conversation about with someone. Finding friends can be difficult when your an introvert living in the middle of nowhere!

Anyways, would love to chat and build friendships. :)

Welcome outdoorman. Always nice to have another guy over 50 join the fun here.

I can imagine facing retirement as a single introvert might be a bit unstimulating. Retirement still seems a distant dream to me, but there are glimmers of possibility. Hopefully you will discover some way to meet people and get outside to enjoy the things you like, even in the middle of nowhere. An online forum might help somewhat, who knows?

I also love exploring the outdoors: hiking, backpacking, cycling, sailing, kayaking, camping, etc. Fortunately, my career has some of that built in. I may actually get less of it when I finally retire, but I'll do what I can.

Thanks. I still enjoy myself and get out quite a bit, but it would be more enjoyable with a travel companion. Retirement is great !

I have no doubts on that. My boss is an ass. (I'm self-employed)
