Within Temptation - The Unforgiving
After years of hearing about them I decided to finally give them a chance. Really, really bland album. I like Symphonic Metal, even the watered down Pop version they're doing, but every song seems to build up to the same boring chorus. And that vocalist...someone teach her that louder does not mean more emotional. It's a well-crafted album but...damn I never thought songs that were obviously made to be exciting could create so little excitement.

Thought of posting Unforgiven when i saw this topic first time and i was so shocked to see this album here. Its a cool one, great synthes of pop and rock! I listen to it now every day when spring comes

It's an oldies kinda day.

Image
Falco - 3 (25th anniversary remaster)
It's sad how his career in America consisted of one popular single when he's often considered one of Germany's(Austria's, but that's practically an extension of Germany) biggest visionaries.
Jeanny is one of the best pop songs ever written. At least one of the best from the perspective of a mental patient stalking after a teenage girl.

Image
Momoe Yamaguchi - Dramatic (2004 SACD Remaster)
Considering she released at a pace of 4 albums a year and then retired at age 21 with 22 original albums out, this is gold.

Image
Akina Nakamori - CD '87
Desire -Jounetsu- is all I need in life.

Still in an oldies mood.

Why isn't Nina Hagen the biggest 80s icon? She should be.

The title track is the earliest non-instrumental and non-cover Metallica track I enjoy. I feel like the only person in the world that never got into Kill 'Em All or Ride the Lightning.

I feel like the only metal fan in the world who doesn't like Metallica in general!

Also, this.

Diamond Head - Canterbury
Why do people hate this album so much? It's fun.

Akina Nakamori - Enka
Masterpiece. One of the best cover albums I've heard.

I can count the Metallica songs I really like on one hand. I've tried getting into them for ages, under the assumption that there must be something great about them I'm not seeing, but so much of their stuff is just so damn boring and forgettable! Doesn't help that I hate the vocals and the members all seem like bitches.

The War on Drugs' Lost in a Dream is the album of the moment, but I'm hammering both Neutral Milk Hotel albums as I'm going to see them in two weeks and I'm beyond excited. NMH were my favourite band as a teen, and I never thought I'd get to see him. :applause:

I haven't had chance to buy the album yet but I love the track with Bryan Ferry on vocals.

Fitz and The Tantrums' new album More That Just a Dream has received a lot of play since it was released at the start of the week.

Ishikawa Sayuri - X-Cross II

Compositions by Shiina Ringo and guitar work by Marty Friedmann on an Enka album by a 56-year old woman. Fucking amazing.
