I was wrong about this game, I like it unlike the others I've played and I even got the water starter because she's far too fabulous and better than the other two useless fucks.

I'm still slowly playing through the game and I really like Team Skull as the villainous team in the games, I thinks the grunts are really funny.

To those who have played/are playing the games, what do you think of Team Skull?

35 hours in, just about finished with the second island, this game is spectacular.

I've put over 90 hours into it over the course of just two weeks lol :)

The difficulty feels a bit watered down compared to previous generations, but I still enjoy it very much :)

Sun and Moon have become my favorite pokemon games in terms of region, storyline, music, pokemon and antagonists! I feel like I should put some effort in a decent review post some time, they deserve it.

You're actually the first person I've come across who says the difficulty went down. The difficulty definitely went up again after the cake walk that was gen 6. They even returned to the slower EXP system from gen 5! Not as difficult as the first 3 gens, but surely more so than gen 6 (and maybe even 5).

As far as leveling up Pokemon I will agree that it's not so easy for Sun and Moon. The Elite Four has definitely been toned down from Gen 6. Even during the rematches their parties don't go much farther than the low 60s as far as levels. At least in X and Y/Oras it as upper 60s and low-late 70s.

Well evidently the elite four has to be at a lower level when your pokemon level up slower. (in ORAS they have even lower levels the first time around.) I do wish that the levels wouldn't cap off at 70, which seems to be the maximum level any opponent in the game has, but at that point your play through is already over. The Kalos elite four is at a higher level, true, but they only have four pokemon each, stay at exactly the same level when you take on the league for a second time and only the champion uses a mega. The Alola E4 has 5 pokemon each, does get a level boost for the rematches and all of them use Z-moves. I never struggled as much with them in gen 6 with a slightly underleveled team as I did in gen 7 with an equally leveled one. Levels don't mean all that much for difficulty in the end.

Either way, they are just the end of an entire storyline in which the battles were harder than they were in gen 6 in general. Take the totem Wishiwashi that can summon a heal pulse Alomomola or the boosted Clefairy in the final battle with Lusamine Of course, if you experienced them as more easy I can't argue that, but going by my own experience and the amount of people saying otherwise, you might just have been lucky.

The best testament of this is perhaps the battle tree. At least in the maison you could go through the first 21 rounds with your ingame team. Now they throw fully evolved pokemon, z-moves, trainers that withdraw their pokemon and a slighty smarter AI at you from the beginning.

Now that you do bring that up I admit some of the totems were downright difficult. Even with type advantages Wishiwashi was hard and Lurantis nearly sweeped my party. Battle tree is much harder than the post-game challenges too.

Just for me personally the lack of high-level trainers was kind of a bummer.

I can't even unlock super singles in the battle tree yet, I only got as far as round 15. I like the challenge, but I feel like you have to be a hardcore competitive player to take on this thing.

Yeah I would have liked to have some higher level options in the game. I don't know why gamefreak insists on leaving trainer rematches out of every first pair of games of a new gen.

Hey guys, I am a big fan of Pokemon! I currently own Pokemon X, Alpha Sapphire, virtual console version of Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Sun! The Sun and Moon games are harder to complete than the gen 6 games. Pokemon X was too easy. I'd love to share my friend codes but I don't know how to retrieve them.

Does anyone else really like to make these? My playthrough team was Decidueye, Palossand, Araquanid, Toucannon, Toxapex and Turtonator. The other are the team I'm currently using to travel through Alola again to complete my dex and a few others I trained or that were on my team for a while!

About 70 hours into Sun and I finally blacked out for the first time.

These games are fantastic, but damn they are easy as fuck. You can easily oneshot most Totem Pokémon even. I felt like X/Y had pretty fair difficulty. Once your turned off the Exp-share, those games were actually quite tough.

You as well? Most people are talking about how these games are finally harder again and here on GFO you're the second already to call them easy. I swear I would have blacked out twice as much if I didn't have the Pokémon Refresh benefits. How overleveled are your Pokémon? Gen 6 was a stroll through the park, but I'd say these games are the hardest since gen 4.

I haven't bothered using Pokémon Refresh. As far as I see it's another way of making the game last even longer than it needs to and I just don't have time for that. After all, I've only just arrived on Akala Island!
Don't think about doing it tomorrow. You won't do it tomorrow. Do it today.

I turned off Exp share for large parts of the game and at times exchanged my ENTIRE team for newcaught Pokémon. Haven't been overleveled since the second island. I just found it insanely easy at every step. My team was in the 50s when I did the Elite 4. One or two Pokémon were over Lvl 60 IIRC.

Z-Moves in particular just make it a walk in the park.

I blacked out after the Elite 4, but only because my team was 50% low-level Pokémon I wanted to evolve and I wasn't expecting to be put up against trainers with Pokémon in the 60s.
