Do you know of any sci-fi and/or horror tv shows with LGBT characters?

Discuss movies, television, music, games, books, media, and culture (including pop culture) generally.

Just want to add on to my previous post, because I thought of a couple more. The creepy (but entertaining) show, American Horror Story, has a few seasons in which there are someLGBT characters. And the characters aren't just minor, but are some of the main ones; I know I'm always disappointed when the only LGBT characters in a show are the ones that barely get any screen time or character development. If I recall there's a miniseries on Netflix called, Osmosis, which has a couple LGBT characters. It's not quite sci-fi, but it's definitely on the borders of sci-fi and some other sub-genres. It's a good enough show, though, and I'd recommend it.

Buffy had a lesbian witch couple.

For the younger crowd, I think Teen Wolf had gay characters. I have never seen the show.

I've just been watching Years and Years actually! I'm on episode 6. Was slightly traumatised by episodes 3 & 4. Our boyfriend recommended it, but that was before he'd got to episode 4 himself... apparently he was in such a state that he couldn't bring himself to even finish the show, poor thing.

I could relate , I was so numb for days after seeing that
[Reveal] Spoiler:
traumatic episode.

I really don't want to give away too much because I want more people to view the series. I really hope Russell T. Davies revives it for a second series because it ended on a cliffhanger. Although even if there isn't a further series , at least we can leave it to our own imagination to decide.

Just finished it. Man, that was a beautiful ending. I actually cried. That rarely happens :P

Well technically there isn't any LGBT characters, but there is a few mentions in the series that makes them "exist", so maybe we will be introduced to LGBT characters later on.

The show's called "The Expanse" and it's a really great SF show, one of my all time favorite. If you like sci fi you really should look into it.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The actor who portrayed the Cardassian merchant Garrick wanted to play him as gay but it never came to pass. Garrick was a sinister and mysterious character with a past as an agent for a Cardassian spy network.

It didn’t come to pass? That performance wasn’t playing him gay?

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm almost positive that he didn't play him as gay. Are you mistaking his deliberate calm tone and politeness as a gay characteristic ? That's almost profiling.

The character was written straight. I believe he had a wife and kids and everything. But how the character was played? I am absolutely not surprised that that actor wanted to play him gay. He’s played as camp as a row of tents.

The actor who played him has said in interviews that he played Garak as a character with an ambiguous sexuality but who did find Bashir attractive. But when the writers don't write any actual dialogue to support it there's only so far one can take it with just performance subtext alone.

Yes , the mystery unfolds. This is what I was trying to remember.
